lemme just say a few things-
1. i hear everone talking about complaints and then they complain about the complaints, then i hear that it's just a game- so everyone should calm down, it is a game, a war game so complaints should be left with people who care i.e your alliance (due to the fact that i dont think posting it on the forums to your enemies will be effective ).
2. "tit for tat" main rule.. if i get hit, i'd want to hit back. BUT one thing i dont agree with is the "you hit me once you get sat on for life" rule.. thats abit excessive.
3. Goodluck to both sides. This war is one for the history books so go at it like Achilles at Troy! DO IT TO BE REMEMBERED! because a few years from now this will be over and MANY accounts would still be flaming ruins!

P.S It's good that this thread isnt as trashy or hostile as some of the other threads.. i means seriously! WHOA DAMN! lmao

I'm re-locking this after discussing it with a forum admin on the following reasons:

1.) precedent. We have never allowed threads like this in the Gal Col before and have always locked them. The galactic colloseum is for threads about a current ongoing war, not a recruitment thread center.
2.) it's unfair. I have told CoP members who have asked to post like this no, and I have locked threads by CoP for doing it.
3.) the thread itself is indirectly about the CIA vs CoP war, and there is already a thread on it in this section.

It IS a perfectly valid thread!

It is not a direct war thread, nor is it a recruitment thread - but it IS a legitimate call to arms pertinent to the current in-game situation.

I agree it does not belong in the Colosseum - it was in General when I reopened it and was subsequently moved to teh Colosseum by another mod.

The fact you have asked CoP members not to post similar threads means nothing - it is a legitimate thread.

Look, I am not a fan of CoP (Gotten a massing from Omega, thats in the past now), and I do have friends in CIA (Dapice, Lord Morlock, et al). However, this doesn't motivate me in any way. This "Schoolyard bully" mentality you give them is an easy way out to making them a scapegoat of your experiences in game. This isn't an example of schoolyard bullying - Would you call America invading Iraq bullying? Germany invading Poland (Sorry for the Nazi reference, but you are bound to have someone say it who actually has malicious intent), Germany invading France (1914), < (1870), Rome invading Gaul, Rome invading Greece?

No, they aren't. It is pure and simply conquest and strategy they are using. They aren't forcing you to fight them. You either back out with grace or you fight back; you don't make a general statement calling them bullies and calling on the general populace to help you fight them.

These historic references have little to do with an online MMORPG and border on sheer silliness. But, to answer your questions:

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. In every case it was a situation where a larger/stronger/better funded enemy decided to go in and hack away at someone weaker/smaller/poorer than they were. The motivations behind each action may vary but the outcome is the same. The following definition of "bullying" can be applied to every situation and nation you mentioned:

The repeated intimidation of others by the real or threatened infliction of physical, verbal, written, electronically transmitted, or emotional abuse, or through attacks on the property of another. It may include, but not be limited to actions such as verbal taunts, name-calling and put downs, including ethnically-based or gender-based verbal put downs, and extortion of money or possessions.

That said, I don't think that everyone in CoP are bullies. I think, like most groups, they have a few loudmouthed bad apples that taint the image for the rest of the alliances. I've made numerous friends who happen to be in CoP alliances and I certainly don't think of them as bullies.

As a leader of a CiA member alliance I fail to see the necessaty for a thread like this, and I believe the general conensus in CiA is the same, this is most likely someone external to CiA either trying to get more people involved or provide obviously obnoxious and overstated points that can easily be shot down by anyone from CoP!

Needless to say I don't really think this is necessary especially when the thread by Alabrax is more or less the same thing, a call to arms to all those sitting on the fence.

The moral of the story........I don't know!
