Is it just me or does it seem like untrained mercs are in high demand? I just checked the page and there's none of them yet millions of attack and defending ones.

I suppose the update partly has to do with why there's 'more' trained mercs around and that there's a war going on ... but why are people still buying untrained like crazy? since they don't add to army size .. seems likely they don't do anything other than give APPs .. (maybe).

I used to collect them alot just for fun, I know they help 'alittle' when you ascned but I know im probly not gonna ascned again so im not even doing it for that reason.

Those calcs are for trained mercs, untrained mercs are worth half that - aka, 4800:1.

The proof(for me), is by your calcs i should have somewhere around 2.5k to 3k app from my 6.3mill mercs, yet, i have roughly half that with only 1.3k. So, to fix your calc, it'd be something like this:

Mercs = 1:4800
Naq = 1:6,00,0000
6,000,000 naq = 1 APP
6,000,000 naq = 4,000 untrained mercs
4,000 mercs = not quite 1APP =p

The app for the trained mercs is (as shown by robin) better then raw naq, however, you come to the problem of them costing twice as much as um, so...in this scenario, raw naq is better.

Hm, my ascention calculator doesn't show a split between untrained and trained so I've assumed they were combined. Once the server is back up and I can check my account, I'll confirm your results as I have several million untrained mercs as well. In looking at the calculator, it would appear that trained and untrained are folded together for the calculation but I have not done the reverse math to confirm that for myself.

compared to normal mercs, untrained are half value for APP, i did the math myself, looking at hard numbers. i wasn't assuming, i just didn't make that point clear. they realistically, are only good as an unlimited bank, with 35% costs on them.(Forum's words)

They do.....they contribute something to your income, not sure the number but its less than half of miners

Once upon a time, I had so many untrained mercs XD

10% of mercs killed, by a goa'uld become untrained mercs. Same as def soldiers. 10% become our UU We're awesome at killing people who sell def's.

But yeah. I used to mass, 'alot'. I had ridiculous amoutns of 'em. Like. Scarilly ridiculous amounts.
