i dont get this

why do people have little or no defense and then send nasty messages that their CO will crush you for hitting them?

basically im wondering why people hide behind their CO or their CO's alliance/affiliation within a group of alliances? is it that hard to create a reasonable defense of 20 bil?

my second question is how many CO's let their officers waltz around in the game with little or no defense and then after their officer gets hit allow their officer to send nasty PMs with threats of what their CO will do to them?

am i the odd man out for expecting my officers to have a defense and be able to defend their income?????

just venting a little.

Well, at the moment a lot of people who would otherwise have a defense are lacking one because of the big war going on.

But yeah, there are a lot of people who rely on that sort of thing for protection. It's annoying being threatened by someone whose an eighth of your size because their commander's commander is the third cousin of an Omegan twice removed. I suppose it's part of the game, though.

yeah i know...i just think its poor sportsmanship to use your CO as your personal enforcer in this kind of matter. i know there are some CO's who dont mind it but this would bug me to no end if this were my officer doing it.
i just cant see myself protecting someone who isnt making an effort to protect themselves. doesnt seem fair to me to do all the work for you. after all are they my officer or am i theirs????

Are they that different? There battles have encompassed entire careers and lives within the game, the most bitter and epic of enemies, neither will leave while the other stands... the ultimate climax, will it ever come?

Probably because you don't need a defense to mass and/or sab someone. Now i wouldn't expect a commander to protect officers who have no defense ALL the time, but if they are at war or rebuilding after an ascention it's perfectly reasonable to dish out severe beatings to anyone who farms the officer whilst they are trying to rebuild.

After all why donate your commander a portion of your UP if they are just going to watch as you get the bonus naq from them stolen by some opportunist farmer?

Farm someone with a powerful commander at your own risk, i ALWAYS check the command chain before i farm, i have no desire to get myself massed for a naq steal when i can steal naq off plenty of other people without much fear of revenge hits/masses.

My theory:

You hit me more then two times you get massed. You will get a decent warning after the second hit.

Same thing happens with my officers as I check their attack logs. They don't need to send the message, I do it for them.

My common message:

"Touch me again and I will mass you"

or

"I will mass you if I see you in my officer's logs again"

When I used to have officers (very short time though, LOL) I just warned them myselves by attending them on the fact their repeated farming would lead to a massing. Point. (Some were stupid enough to don't take it serious, though  )

I provide zero defense support because I only take weak accounts as officers to help them out with naq and I have no minimum UP requirement. It's just done to be nice but "nice" doesn't buy them protection.

the way i look at it is this.

1. My officers Def.
2. the attackers strike
3. how many attacks in 1 week
4. amount stolen per attack

so then when someone like the moron that is farming my wife when she has a 6 bil def and he has an 18 bil strike taking 300-500 mil and has done it 4 times i get angry

the 2nd time i had my wife send him a message asking him politely to stop farming her. she got no reply but the attacks stopped for about 12 hours. then a 3rd one. so i sent the warning stating that if he did it again i would be removing his def weaps. after the 4th one i gave him a last warning that if he did it again he would say goodbye to roughly 150k supers plue 75k spies. all he had to do was stop when she asked him nicely. and i have to say there are farms with 0 def and active out there that make at least 450 mil per turn. its morons like that, that make me stand up for my officers

see that's farming. im refering to one hit attacks. just going through the list of players and attacking whoever has a good amount of naq and a small enough defense for it to be taken. im not talking about farming. im talking about people who get once and then fly off the handle over it. actives players with little or no defense who get hit one time by a person and then start with the threats and nastiness.

When I had officers, I'd send a message but maybe mass for one hit if I got a bad response. Personally as much as one naq hit on me when I'm not at war will get you massed. Because anyone who attacks me is looking to lose their def. I am very sure to make it unprofitable to farm me.

it is a frequent thing within thins game but heres my point of veiw anyways:

as for using my CO basically i handle things myself unless too many people become involved somehow and then i may call upon my CO or use their name to try help "deflate" the situation.

and for farming well i farm those with NO defense upto 500mil defence as to keep the peace and if they or their CO ask me to stop farming i let them know that the farming is happening because of no defense therefore some may help, which sofar has worked 100% to both parties as they learn they need defence and i am not losing a farm because they feel important everybody wins :-D , and those cocky enough to refuse are ignored by me i only beleive in meeting half way not bowing to their commands.

well one player i know hit someone one time took 700 mil and was sabbed twice and then sent a nasty PM basically trying to extort 5 bil from him but he doesnt have FSS so he cant send the naq. the two sabs he got in return for the 700 mil naq took 3 bil in his weapons...i think he lost out on the deal and IMO i think its even, he hit, got sabbed and that's that. apparently the other person doesnt agree.
