search for new world button

What about having a 'search for a new world' button where if you click it (only once per day), your army would go and try and find a new world.

Sometimes it will say good stuff like 'you have found xx naq', sometimes it will say bad stuff like 'your army found a new enemy and sustained xx casualties' and sometimes it will say 'you could not find a new planet'. but they could be alot of different outcomes also including 'an invisible enemy followed you through the stargate/onto your ship and sabbed xx weapons', or 'you found a new ally in which xx units joined your forces'.

Well that was just an idea that popped into my head!

No actually I can see this as being quite a neat little gimmick feature. People can click your link once a day already, so we know that "once a day" things aren't a waste of time.

None of the outcomes would have to be particularly unbalancing, and to the super powerful players out there they shouldn't really be noticeable (these peopel control empires really, so one new planet won't make such a difference).

Things like:

- Increase in UP by 3
- You find 10 Attack Units
- You find 10 Attack Mercs
- You find 10 Spies
- You lose 25 Untrained Units
- Nothing happens

This sort of thing wouldn't do much for a large player aside from bringing the odd laugh, but would really help out a very new player (since the first few days are painfully slow).

Great idea!

Good idea, but if we were to do something like this, we would need alot more possibilitie.

yes there are loads of possible outcomes out there...there is naq, trained and untrained units, mercs, and weapons and you could gain all different amounts of these, and you can also lose them too

Honours and Awards

Hmmm, I already brought this up once. Triggered random events, with possibly good bonuses, but also serious risks involved. Bonuses could also be a temporary 10% naq increase, temporary bonus UP, cache of weapons, willing followers, instant X turns of naq, bonus turns or even a free period of PPT, which would have to be a very rare chance. Risks could be temporary production penalties, loss of units, the possibilities are many. Maybe you could have a preset cost involved as well to set up the expedition.

I like the idea of the preset cost involved! maybe turns because it takes time to go and find a new planet or naq cus it will cost to get to a new planet!

Great idea!

Perhaps the bonus's and penalties can increase in size depending on rank?

How 'bout you occasionally(very rare) stumble upon another player?
