I dont know if this helps but it is sort of how the elections here in the U.S takes place. Let people register to vote before the nominations are posted. Give a month or so for people to register , those not registered do not get to vote. In my opinion if the come on here to just vote for someone I dont think its right. but my opinion people vote for many different reasons but hey they have to be registered voter to do so to have a voice.

No matter what method that I can think of, I can still think of several ways to get around it. I am fairly certain that I could arrange for a player called "Iamalosercheater" to win any contest.....unless you stick to the post votes, and verify each vote ingame....And not include all players newer then 2 weeks.


Then hope that nobody has had the vision to create BS accounts just for this months ago.

Police your own, and if anybody finds out that someone cheated.(forum vote wise)..Have a stated no tollerance that will result in deletion of their main account INGAME.


So, let a player with a year in decide to abuse his knowledge...If/When it gets out......Delete him...well...

Yeah, I am already getting forum pm's about my return. It completely revolves around my ability to get on the internet. I can't even goto the game address due to the damn government settings Lucky for me, this is a forum, and not affected.

Funny thing is, no matter how we fudge up elections in the USA....WE still have more freedom then anyother country that I have been to......

The thing about people is....

No matter how much a person campaigns... if people who know you, don't like you, they won't vote for you...

for instance, people who vote "Mr. Head" for "Greatest CO" or somthing, will ask his allinace to vote for him. The people in his alliance has FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of what a great guy "Mr. Head" is. If they people he campaigns to don't agree that he is the Greatest CO, then they Don't vote for him...

simple as that.

The fact is... no matter how much campaigning a candidated does, he has to have SOME FORM OF SUBSTANCE to back it up.

A "Mr. 2-week old", cannot possibly win using the campaign method. He has nothing to back him up. The people who vote for "Mr. Head" are people that "Mr. Head" has reached out to. People who believe that he is indeed the greatest CO.

You don't see one player dominating more than 1-3 polls. This show legitimacy. Meaning that the votes/nominations are indeed backed by something more than popularity.

If the polls were just about popularity, then 1 player would dominate most of the polls because all their friends would vote for him no matter what. But this is not the case in the current system. So right now, and before, I felt that the votes were legitamate...

To be honest, I campaigned for my category. I posted on the forums that I visit, and to the players that i know. They were informed that there was a poll and that they could vote for me. Not all that I directed to the category did voted for me, and that is perfectly fine. The voters have a choice on who they vote. They aren't mindless drones. Campaigning will inform them of the vote and your candidacy, but if you don't have anything backing it or they feel somebody is better, they will not vote for you.

On the issue of cheating. It's bad karma. Cheaters will be caught and punished. But I don’t think the IP thing is the way to go. I personally introduced many of my friends to this game and they share at least 1 IP with me. At school, I have to use proxies to get around the school filter{school block SGW and forum…><*tear*}, and others may use the same proxies to get around their school filter.
I still think that people should post or pm a mod with their ID to vote so that cheating can be minimized.

They also should have the option to vote secretly. Many do not vote because people will see who they voted for. Some people may think that one person is the better candidate but the other is him friend. And he will refrain from voicing his opinion because he doesn't want to alienate his friend. The secret ballot is someting that should be considered.


The US has never actually removed a president before... Only 2 were impeached, meaning they were brought to trail, but never removed. And the US is full of uninformed voters.

I am also sorry I asked my alliance who I know exactly how active they are to vote for me for Tauri of the year, and Most Improved player of the year.. (Yes I did send a Alliance wide PM asking IF they had an account on forums to vote for me) I am also sorry I asked all the EPA Players to also vote for me many of whom have seen me mass EVERYONE who has hurt them throughout the last year.. My total of players massed is nothing compared to Bill's alliances massed by himself but its in the 40's - 50's.. As for Total Alliances massed by me that is a smaller number of 15 or so...

However I like talking to my "victims" before I kill them.. (Serial Killer here RUNNNNN lol) Usually it ends up that farmers pay everything back with interest or something like that.. A massing is avoided and my strikers start massing eachother due to boredom.. Truth is I love massing.... For awhile its the only thing that has kept me in this game.. Especially massing Living God n00bs

Now the above message was a nice n00b message, in MSN he even told me about his top 100 ranked Living God friend with his 300 billion defence and 200 billion strike, who he didn't give a name for me Anyway getting off point.. I like to mass.. But I like to see if I can sort things out first...

However I don't post who I am going to mass or what alliance I am going to mass.. I just do it get it over with and move on.. I tell whoever I mass why they were massed they either accept it and move on or they cry like a little baby and ask for help in massing me even tho they started it.. A nice little war is started and then eventually it winds up on these forums...

NOT ALL CONFLICTS END UP HERE YOU KNOW!!! If that was the case lets have admin implement a forum document for massing.. We will find that Section 8 Subsection D hasn't been filled in correctly and massing has been denied (For those who can't see what I am trying to say, just becuase I don't post on the forums doesn't mean I am not active..

Voting - See this is what I don't get.. This Forum's own black market sections you need 50 posts before you can post anything in there... If your worried about forum activity isn't Ingame then by all means lets scrap the game and just have forums.. That will be so much more fun we can all take the piss out of each other till the cows come home and then people will go "YOU HURT MY FEELINGS SO THIS IS MY LAST EVER EVER POST GOODBYE" Once we make a certain group leave we will have won.. Oh wait, no becuase this forum exists becuase of what happens ingame.. Maybe we should just scrap the forums altogether, becuase a player who has been playing for the last year but hasn't registered on the forums is NOT really a player... They aren't active becuase they have a 4 million army size and are a living god after ascending to that level finally 3 weeks ago... The forums are NOT part of the game.. When people get that into their heads it will be a great day..

Forums for Game = Where everyone of us is "entitled" to post whatever we like, as long as it isn't disrespecting anyone..

The forums should be entitled to EVERYONE who plays.. Shaitan you said that phbbp isn't that advanced.. Upgrade to the latest version.. You can have all sorts of new options in it.. I know this becuase I am an admin in one such phbbp 3.0 forum.. You can add an option field to include Ingame ID and Ascended Status.. Just backup these forums take it down for a day or two and copy it over to the new ones.. Skin em up and your flying.. Then get everyone to complete their profiles..

Not sure on this one - You can set it so that say the ingame ID field people higher then a certain number can't post in certain sections.. That might solve your problems..

Now I know the system we have isn't a perfect one.. But for god sakes people its just a game.. Yeah I was nominated great and thanks to everyone who nominated me.. But in the last week I have been called the following

a. A cheat - For asking members of an alliance to vote for me

b. Desperate for trying to win - Same reason as A

Anyone who knows me knows I am ANTI cheat, did I see wrong in asking them to vote for me? NO!! Why becuase I know how active they are ingame..

Was I acting desperate in asking them to vote for me?? Maybe possibly I am unsure about this, but if it were an election wouldn't you get your local offical coming upto you kissing you baby etc.. Just merely doing the same thing.. Becuase remember a vote for me is a vote for you!!



Now all of this has severely hampered my wanting to continue with this game.. Especially with everything that is going on in RL atm.. Which is far more important..

I honestly don't want to come onto the forums anymore but here is the kicker I love these things.. I love being able to comment on people and offer them my opinions.. But if all your basing my activity on is what I post here in the forums even tho I may or may not have an account is ridicilious..

S T I the name might be better known to people who just play ingame because he held his rank 1 for 7 months (See I got it right according to the information I had) just as when i started the game EtL was rank 1.. And there are other things that come into play here.. people who only use their accounts to make $$ and the occasional massing to keep them interested.. A lot of people are offended about this fact that people make money off this game.. Did you ever consider that this may be a reason why people didn't vote for some of you?

Finally, yes this is a popularity contest and the most popular guy will always win..

Nice post in the forum and pretty much true if i did run for anything in the awards i could pretty much win it with the amount of player i have in the allance all it would take is a mass PM to them all and they would all vote for me.
But i dont give 2 hoots about the SGW awards.
Thanks for the name check i have been playing the game for 2 years and your the first one to mention it on the forum i must be doing something right running the allance to get noticed.

As for a forum pissing contest I am not going there, the people I know/fought with know who I am, Alliances know who I am, but most of all in this WAR game they also know I bring PEACE as well. Because there are two sides to a coin, where there was war there must come peace.

I do not have the answer to the awards problem & sending me PM'S calling me a child will not get me back to the FORUMS.

But it has been a welcome sight to see everyone have a great debate without name calling. It has also been a pleasure to see people from both side talk to each other with respect & open minds & listen for a change to each others point of view,

I think winning alliance commander of the year would have been a big morale booster for him as he was techinally in charge of 6 alliances..

I don't see any other player ingame who has done that..

technically he was in charge of the EPAc which was last I heard/checked was a senate? so he didnt RUN those 6 alliances...

but I'm certainly not saying he didnt do a lot of work...

but I dont think unless he is running an alliance should win alliance commander of the year...
