I was just thinking how they might actually work.
Ours drain as they get hit but it seems that theirs are like a thin super hard wall you cant hack away at it but if you hit it hard enough it will smash.

but if we folow your idea then the asgard rays would be just as ineffective as missiles.
i beleive theres a storage buffer of power to their strong sheilds. proof: 3-4 rays may not do it but it drains the buffer so each shot after will penetrate. proof that their buffer is low is that their sheild power flicker. the ships' power source (that glowing blue ball in center of ship) just cant refill the storage buffer for the sheilds fast enuff to protect the ori battlecruisers-> results in a big boom

who needs submarines anyway, those little black boats just keep sinking under the water anyway.
