A new detail on taking planets.

Nice and simple tbh. If a MS comes into your system and nicks your planet you're going to notice.

I think your MS should engage with theirs and if they win only then can they succesfully attack the planet, their MS and yours will sustain damage to the shields and weapons 5x higher than normal.

That will mean you probably have to amss it beforehand, unless theirs is away.

I like the general idea a lot of ppl say its unrealistic etc. And since a ton of ppl invest a ton into planets and MS it would make investing into the MS a bit nicer.

This is a suggestion, not a released enhancement. ;)

im not so sure u should force people into investing in their mothership, it can be massed away. the only way to prevent this is to send it out, which makes it useless for defending ur planet lol.

So poeple arent going to mass your MS away for no reason. And buying planet defences are pretty useless anyway unless you got like 150bil or something.

I was thinking of this this morning.
You have to use a mothership (with fleets) to take a planet, so why can't your mothership (and fleets) help to defend a planet when it's being attacked?

ok, how about this. i'm tossing in an idea.

Your mothership is partolling your galaxy by default.
If someone attacks one of your planets you have a chance that your ms is nearby and will interfere.
The trick is that the more planets you have the higher the chance that your ms isn't at a specific planet your enemy wants to attack.

To make it easy, if you have 1 planet your MS will have a 50% chance of interfering with the enemy attack and a battle ensues, if your ms wins you continue to attack the enemy planet. If you loose you retreat without the planet being touched.
If you have 2 planets you have a 33% chance of your ms interfering (2 planets and your home planet, since your ms has to be there too)
So if you had 10 planets you'd have a 9 percent chance of interfering.

That would probably be hard to impliment and if that is used the damage to a MS would have to be huge.

I think it needs further refinment, but the indea has merit.

At the very least, it'd force planet stealing multis to build and arm a MS that can be destroyed.

well not really, but if they don't then they'll have much higher costs if they meet your ms and get their fleets wiped :D

Yeah, that alone makes this worthwhile I think.

Better yet, if your MS total power goes below X % of what it started with, its 'too damaged' to move a planet.

You have to repair your MS and fleets before moving to attack again.
