alliance message sender

I recently received an alliance message from myself, but I'm sure I didn't send it. It was sent by the 2IC, but the from column said I sent it. I'd never noticed that before, does it always do that?

If it moves, kill it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does move, and then kill it.

Yeah, alliance messages always come in the name of the leader... someone already reported that as a bug, but nothing has been done...
