What happend to the race roleplay in SGW ?

anywho, although it was nice to have such roleplay im not saying the current sgw community is bad, some parts of it are, yes, but there are a lot of parts that rock, i love the whole basically server wide war, everyone has fun in the spam temple, there is a good economy, but what i love most of all about this community is things like the death of someone who impacted the game even just a little, if someone dies IRL, the community gets together and sends their condolences and such, i havent come across many games where such things happen

Well said, This is also one of the oldest communities I know of and we are often used as a reference mark for many other communities.

oh and tok're i agree with you, i wish there was a more roleplay aspect to the game again, but it is like every other mmorpg out there, it starts out like that(a nice roleplay community) then it all goes out into skill and which race looks kooler or has the better bonuses..../shrug and /cry

When alliances like Omega etc came out people saw in an alliance you need a mix of people and accounts to get the best results.

That is why race wars died out.

All the Omega top player, at the beginning of Omega, Iron2047, EtL, Fox and myself went Replicator for a long time...

I agree some of the top players were Replicators, but that doesnt mean you were a one race alliance. You had/have amazing other race players.

You had a great mix of top players which made your alliance stand out and in my opion helped it to become great.

For all their other faults, the SLA took roleplay seriously. The RP section on their forums was always active. No clue what state they're in now, though.

Well thats no fun, to be honest, this isnt spam, this isnt degrading mods, this isnt causing mass debotchery, i dont really see a reason for a ban. A simple question was possed and an answer was just given ehh?


OSL is a 1 race alliance yes, but please can u actually LOOK at them. They are a 3rd rate alliance, who really didnt make a dent in the war. they set TATS to war ingame and was sat on in every way. They tried to mass one of my 3bil def's at the start of war, they had 3 people, and wasted ~9.8k ats and finally gave up. They arent doing well. nuff said.

Lol Judo. We declared war on TATS with the intention of going after them and then CoP started getting itself a bit more organized and we were asked to focus on other alliances. We've ignored TATS for almost the entirre war except for use as farms and the occasional diversion when we've been bored.

But if you want to think of us as a third rate alliance, feel free. Just don't have a heart attack when you look and see us up on the first page one day in the near future.

I remember them, but they just disaperd as race begun to mean less and less.

In reality, assencion killed the RP aspect of the game.

If you read what I posted, you'd see I said we declared war on TATS. never claimed we didn't. Thing is, less than 24 hours after we declared war, we had been asked to focus on several other alliances, so our plans for TATS never materialized. As for allowing them to bypass nox, that was a VERY minor issue. By the time this happened, OSL had already been worked over by SC and to a lesser extent TL. We had few if any defenses remaining. Of course, that didn't stop TATS from showing how superior they were by wasting AT to take out meaningless defenses.

The only thing TATS "won" in that war was the war meter. I know I was getting hit regularly for naq amounts that were hardly worth it (again, TATS wasting their AT) and the were massing dfenses of a couple hundred mil with much larger strike than needed (wasted naq and AT). All it did was serve to push the war meter damages on their side up, and they thought that was enough to make us surrender. Most of our hits on TATS were farming for naq, not any organized war effort.

Regardless, as i said, people can think what they want of OSL. Frankly, the only people that I truly care about what they think are those in my alliance (both OSL and the larger omegan empire/CoP). the rest of the server can go hang for all I care.
