EDIT: Since pooke doesnt seem to think this thread belongs were the entire SGW community can see it, I shall delete it.
Its funny, there are threads saying FAR more about assencion that this one did, and theyre not moved at all.
Thank you pookie, for once again dashing my confidence in the SGW community.
Delete pls

*cough....edit=my fault.....cough*
I understand more than ever, since the start of this war, that work in Asscended is neccessary for survival of any type.
That being said....once I asscended for the first time, I found out there was no real chance in a frozen over h3ll I could even compete there. So, I personally lost all interest in the server.
I like the idea that there is something (miners) that can't be stolen from you.
BUT- The fact that you couldn't mass/raid away the miners would also unbalance the game again. How? Well....you would be left with only being able to kill the uu(not including def/att)....and seriously...how many uu are actually being left out up there? Not much. It would just give the top players even more chance to stay on top, by not being able to be "stagniated"(completely massed away and dropped to the bottom again).
It would allow smaller palyers a chance to catch up, but I feel the above reason would just make it harder in the end....
You can't "fix" it if it's not really broken. Then again, it's not completely functioning if it's impossible for anyone to be able to compete....

ok i do agree, miners shouldnt be raidable so that people can catch up.
but there is a kind of bank in ascention, your LF. sure it has a bad return rate but if newbies pump their app into max LF and energy flow they can keep converting to dmu to catch up a bit at least.
on a side note, ive seen a few ppl with their main relms as deleted accounts or have none at all, whats up with that? its just cluttering up the server and they aren't even good farms

A: Agreed, I like how assencion has a massable bank
B: When you delete in main, you assencion account remains I think.
And PK, the thing is, catching up is on the player. It might not be doable, at least not quickly, but thats what the game is about (partily at least)
And if you want to change the game JUST so people can catch up, then youre simply unbalancing it.
A game should be balanced just teh same for all players, regardless of size.

Holy crap Tok'ra... One of your posts that is of value!
I agree that you shouldnt be able to raid away peoples trained miners (or whatever they're called on ascension).. And I agree with this because EPA raped my account and took a third of its army size away within 24hrs... It wasnt huge.. but 1.5million or so, and to have a third taken away really hurts (gj btw guys
)
Perhaps the way forward is doing something that many other games have for powerful players... Provide things for people to spend their naq and UU on.
These things might effect their account in a very small way and cost a great deal of resources, but as long as its bling people will buy it.
Special Relics could be introduced.. similar to technology upgrades now.. but costing vastly more and giving a lot less.. They could give special abilities such as "1% of your troops gain a battlerage and do twice their normal amount of damage".. in effect this is only 1% more damage than normal.
And rather than simply buying these upgrades... make them randomised, and difficult to get. It could work on the basis that you fund a team of explorers who go out looking for relics in distant sectors of the universe.. The more you fund them with, the higher the chance they will come back with a more powerful item... but they may come back with a very weak item or quite likely non at all, depending on what they find with the resources available to them. (this is basically the same kind of code as the mothership uses when looking for planets..)
In short.. make peoples accounts more customisable... give them differences... a powerful item might do something like:
"Gives you an additional 12% to attack but reduces your defence by 8%"
or effects that are not so tied in with current stats, like:
"Gives your Mothership a chance to quadruple its defence after attacking someone for the next ten attacks from you, or on you"
There's lots more idea's like that, that are basically canabilised from many RPG's out there.
It would add individuality and something for powerful players to spend resources on.

It no longer is however.
I mentioned no more of hte assencuon server than is allready mentioned in various threads, yet it still gets ganked out of a public fourm to a private one.
This is my last attempt to fix the game, as Im just fed up.
Could a mod lock this please.
