I'm a bit puzzled by rule - 3) No sharing or giving out your account details to others. Giving your account details in order to save your own backside from getting farmed is not acceptable, I appreciate that. But why can't two people play on one account? You get joint bank accounts for Christ sake so why not a joint SGW account? What if my long term partner wanted to play but didn't want to create an account of her own and with my permission wanted to play on mine on a regular and consistent basis?

I just think this has to do with: if 2 people use one account they could be online 24h/day wich puts other people who don't have friends who also play in disadvantage.
being normal is also overrated, you must have faith in who you are

By that logic you might be suggesting that my theoretical long term partner is in another time zone, so yes, that is possible, and yes that is pushing the boundaries of gaining an unfair advantage but no, my partner wouldn't be overseas. Think how often I'd get laid, I couldn't cope with that. I'm talking about a marital situation. You'd be located in the same house, on the same IP, using the same computer more than likely. Infact, I bet you twenty dollars that there are couples who do this already.

first of all : I don't bet
not my religion but my job forbids me that
secondly... Indeed there are probably people doing it allready... and as long as it is the same account used on 1, maybe 2 IPs it is hard to check...
But admin has stated those rule to avoid cheating, and by subscribing to the forum you normally accept the rules etc.... (blablablabla)...
so it just depends on the person itself if the person is honest or not

depends... honesty also means following the rules.. and since the rules forbid sharing...
about being in love: I have been maried, divorced allready, have 2 magnificent daughters who are living with me and I'm co-habiting with my new wife, who hates SGW btw....
But as long as she plays her bigfish games... I keep playing SGW

I believe explaining it to admin via the urgent mail address is a right thing to do, such drama can't be discussed to be wrong reason, so it's best thing to do.

I think it also has to do with people giving account details to another person, something happens and they are no longer friends/in a relationship in your case, and one person logs into the account and kills it.Diamond Dust wrote:...But why can't two people play on one account?...
It has happened before where the account was gutted, I would be hesitant to say deleted, but I know of some being gutted. The rule is there to prevent it from happening.

I'll hold my hand up and say I'm one of the one's who hit the account. I had no idea that this thread existed and the circumstances behind the account being were it was in the rankings.
Please accept my apologises and sympathies with regards to your grandfather and broker me for whatever damage I did. If I had known all the details I would never have dreamt of hitting an account coping with the problems you were dealing with.

Very honorable of you.
But it does prove my point that 80% of the players don't read forums.
@ Diamond Dust, 2 people sharing 1 account is completely wrong and illegal.
1 account per person period.
I mean whats stopping me and an assuie or even me an assuie and a russian from all working the same account. We take shifts either 12 or 8 hours each and the account will never have any down time, will never have an resources out and can literally sit on someone elses account 24/7.
This is wrong in every sense of this game.

I'm more than happy to attack accounts where people have got fed up and left, and I'm more than happy to attack accounts of people who are active and can fight back. But I draw the line at attacking accounts of people who are dealing with traumatic real life issues. Sadly as in this case sometimes you don't find out until afterwards. At times like that i am more than happy to do whatever I can to help people rebuild.
There does need to be some system in place to deal with things like this. Although I don't know how forum could implement and police it properly. Maybe a one time special galactic peace button. It can onnly be used once during the lifetime of an account, and it puts you in vacation mode for 30 days. No income, No UU, No Turns. Unlike the vacation mode you can't log back in after a couple of days to stop people abusing it, It doesn't matter if you have attacked in the previous 24 hours or not. In fact it could take away any profit you have made in terms of naq or uu in the previous 24 hours to impliment.
It would be a 'one off' thing to use in case of real life emergancies when no other option is possible and you don't want to see a couple of years worth of work on your account go down the pan.
If they have an ascended account its linked into that as well so both of them can't be used for 30 days. The 30 day limit would stop people abusing it during war. And allow only the people who really needed it use it.
Just a suggestion?
