Your post was general enough that it only described how players act on the server, but some of the replies were too specific. I personally wouldn't mind if ascension became more public, but until Admin Jason says the same this'll have to stay in the ascension section.

The bright side is that enough people have replied that they will follow up on the discussion in its new home.

The ultimate problem with ascension is that all growth is exponential. In main, people have a chance to catch up by raiding. It adds a single non-variable coefficient to the equation of growth. Ascension doesn't have that. Bigger players raid smaller players and grow more. Smaller players get raided by larger players and lose growth. Growth is unlimited for those who don't get raided. This means that as time passes, the gap between players becomes larger. There was a time when Mojo Rising's strike was rank 1, and mine was rank 2. We were a few thousand apart. Now, if I was to try and take rank 2 strike, I'd have to put my entire army into it. There's plenty of ways to change the exponential growth.

A) Put a cap above the strongest player and wait for him to reach it. When he reaches it, then wait for the majority to reach it(like Forum has done with main). This would be my preferred option honestly.

B) Make planets and AT purchasable. While I don't like the free flow of AT in main, it does change the growth equation. I would personally be against this.

C) Remove a large portion of planets from every top 100 or so realm, but make it proportional to their account. This would close the gap up, but only temporarily. Again, not a favorable choice by me.

I have also an idea...what about limiting life force to 1mil maxi held. Those with more than that will have it decrease slowly, so they should use it before it falls to 999,999 LF.


Considering my next charisma level costs more 8 times that, I can't honestly see that being a viable option. That would only prove to force people out of ascension.

Basically stranding those of us under 100mil planets? Mojo Rising passed 180mill planets recently. The next one will be 200mill, and my bet is around Tuesday if I remember his CER correctly.

All I can say is please keep working ideas and not fighting over bullcrap. Its broke, lets fix it.

I dont like seeing "buyable" AT in ascended at all. To me its whats hurting main so badly. Making resource planets unraidable seems to be an idea most can agree on so lets role with that. Since your UP never decreses why not base the raiding limit on that? Say you got a 10K up and a 120K armysize. Then you can only lose planets down to 100K. the higher your UP the higher your "untouchable" army size.

Just a thought.

To encourage more play on ascended is to go is to link main and ascended more, with bonuses/weapons/tech you can buy in ascended to help ones main account. This could be based on army size/power in both servers.

Or you could do something like descend your ascended account 1 time a week for 24 hours giving some kind of super ability to your main account. Whether upping all your defenses and attacks as they are now fully backed by an ascended being, or managing your resources (up/naq). Could make this a choice or do all, or just one thing. (edit:Kind of how the one ascended deascended but still knew everything or how the same one descended later and became a kid, but was still able to help out by finding a cure for the Ori plague. Or how de sala hung out to protect the harseisis, or anubis came back *just realized the comparisons*)

Depending on what you the bonus that is to main, you'd have a time where you were basically out of phase recovering from reascending. say 24 hours if you do an all or the choice of two (resource/military), and if you do this you can't vac mode under the current rules. Of course during this time, your ascended account doesn't do anything, it's "descended."

The recovering phase could be a vac mode deal, or you could log on but you couldn't attack/be attacked and couldn't grow, but you could still log on to manage your account if you must. Or you could make it so that you couldn't attack but could be attacked (kick em while their down), of course with this I think you'd be able to draw some resources back just not all. Either would add some strategy as you could still do somethings if you had enough dmu/life force saved up before you descended and could manage your account, or if you can withstand being open to attack for the time period..

If you don't want to link them more or think it's not enough, then here are some thoughts on some of the suggestions.

Personally, I don't like the idea of making resource planets unraidable. It's one of the problems in main that causes wars to continue. Although, the idea of a limit based on UP or % of resource planets/army size might work, but it still can create the same stalemates as in main, the trick is finding a decent rate/%. Another idea would be to have a more expensive resource planet that is unraidable but can either only be trained from normal untrained (make resource untrainable) or base on a percent of resource planets. A variation would be a "tech" that would allow one to buy up to a certain percent say 50% unraidable (this could be bought with dmu as tech or life force as a power up).

Although maybe buying planets, like mercenaries, (can only buy a maximum of a percent of your resource planets) could be beneficial (and maybe just make these as unraidable {solves two problems as metioned above}), or they can be just like mercenaries in main but can be used anywhere you want (but then only a percent of each category). But there shouldn't be a market for everyone to buy them, especially if just able to buy resource planets, as the bigger players will buy them all up at first and continue to a majority of them from then on, just like how main used to be. Each should have a solitary market to purchase from.

I think upping the asc point rate is a good idea, and not just because I'd benefit, but because it would help everyone who hasn't ascended the whole way more than the rank mod, the silly superweapon, turns based on rank, etc. ideas. Although you can't up it too much otherwise it does penalize people who put lots of time and effort into filling out 10 ascensions earlier, of course if more ascensions were added, then less of a problem.

Somewhat similarly, you can leave the asc point rate the same and change the rates of the powerups to be based on rank/army size, or based on number of ascensions. I think basing them on army size would help the most, that or just making say the first 25 levels (as an example) of powerups cheaper, then the next 25 somewhat cheaper, then once you hit 50, it goes to the current rates. This would allow the smaller players to catch up more.

Buying turns also seems to not be good, especially with the new turn system, and this only will really help mid to big players.

Losing all bonus in main for vac mode on ascension is a must. Either that or if you go on vac mode on one, you automatically go on vac mode on the other. If you've legitimately gone on vac for one, then you theoretically shouldn't be able to be playing either one.

If for someone reason you don't fulfill the rules of the vac mode on both servers at the time, then you either a) don't get to go on vac mode or b) the account goes immediately to vac mode after 24 hours after the first account goes into vac mode., or c) rules be damned, if you can vac on one, vac and both are into vacation (or d) something else). Personally, a or c seem the best, as b leves open too many holes to close with people manipulating the system. No ideas for d yet.

have it on a slightly exponential path, perhaps your unit production to the power of 1.5 or some figure that works. I would be wary however of making it too large, as large players still need to be destroyable, however this would provide a "safe" limit of resource planets which could be made...

That would still give you a set amount of what you cant catch up ....

if you make 5 mill planets you will get raided for 250k planets and then whenever you reach 5mill again the same happens its not really a solution cause that whats actually happens already....

Add a new ascended stat to pump your lifeforce into. Then make the safe amount 10*LEV*UP. Where LEV = (1 + level/100)^3.
So base is 10*UP.
Level 10 =13*UP
Level 20 =17*UP
Level 30 =22*UP
And so on.
