What IS farming?

I logged in this morning, and for the 4th day in a row found a message in my inbox saying "please stop farming my officer". I went to see who it was and found they were in the top 10.

I thought to myself "fair enough, i must've hit his officer a few times i'd better set peace". He had about 10 officers so i searched each of them through my logs.

ONE hit on a single officer. This has happened the last 3 days as well, i get a message from somebody (usually somebody you would expect to know WHAT *farming* is) and its been 1 hit. And they always seem to have at least 10 officers.

Because i don't really agree with farming people (active ones anyway) i go through them all and find who i've hit and set peace, but its really starting to annoy me when people complain for 1 hit.

That's why i've made this poll, to see what people actually think *farming* is, and also what you think the course of action should be if you think your officer (or yourself) is being farmed.

There's a difference between a general farming run (f.x. attacking everyone under rank 400 with more than 300mil naq out) and regular farming.

In essence, both qualify as 'farming', since you steal the income of others. Naturally while one need not worry about being a regular farm if you got attacked only once, it can be argued that even these farming runs are a violation of the officer's property. In essence, it all depends on how whiney the officer is.

Some commanders just send that message to everyone, no matter how many times they actually struck, who shows up in the attack logs of their officers. :) It's a funny world we live in, Lord Apollo.

The way you're describing it, I call it Naq-Hit.

Sorry, but if there is someone who has 1+ bil in the open. Then the decision is really easy. Take it (if my strike can counter his defense ofc :P)

If you want to leave billions of Naq in the open. Then invest in your defense, so that will noone will try to take it.

My 2 cents

I'd call two of your poll choices as farming:
3 hits in a few days
several his in one day

Generally if you turn up in my officers' logs several times (within the 5 days it keeps them) then you're considered to be farming them

Sometimes though, I'll send a warning message after only 1 hit - just simply asking to make sure my officer doesn't become a regular hit

More then 3 hits in a period of time..

For him being such a n00b I would mass him and all of his officers

Oh and point of note I personal log EVERYONE who farms my officers so I will eventually get around to massing them when it is least convient to them.. Like when say they build a 300 billion defence

farming is up to 3-4 attacks a day. There are several turns, and if someone makes alot of naq, your gonna want it all the time.
