DR.Who. some info needed

i was never really a DR.Who fan untill. now and now my son is hooked on the show!

anyways, all thru the last few episodes we have watched their have been references to the time war and how the darleks and the timelords sort of destroyed themselfs...

can someone please point me in the right direction of these episodes. do they exist or were they just written in to the story to fill the gap between the original shows and the new ones?

well there have been many time wars between the daleks and timelords....
there hasnt been a specific episode with the timewar but its referenced many times....

daleks vs timelords, in the end all the daleks converge on the timelord home planet and the dr explodes some sort of bomb that destroys the daleks and the timelord planet, all die, except a few daleks....

those are the 2 best old episodes, only the new seasons refer to the timewar
