NYC Get Together

I've been talking with a few friends and it turns out I'm going to plan on being in NYC during the week of the 4th of July. Seeing as how I'm going to be meeting up with Curumo and a few others while I'm there, I was thinking that maybe we could have a convention. Plane tickets aren't too bad right now, but hotel prices are outrageous :p.

Anyway, would anyone else be up for a little get together while we're in town?

You can always share a hotel room.

I did that with Mango and Sov. Splits the cost of the room, and it becomes not so outrageous to book a room.

That is unless of course you are meeting up with people you don't feel safe alone with... asleep...

I am not. It's a perfectly valid means of reducing costs.

Look, she could've said you can go and have 1 person sell themselves for one night to pay for the rooms of the rest. THAT would be shocking.

I'd sleep in a room with Mango too, after a little chat we had earlier. I think he's one of the safest people around.

Generally just not get too drunk and you'll be quite safe together.

bah, for some reason hotels in the US try to make you pay per person instead of per room! It's just outrageous.

I thought everyone shared room (or bed) with someone who they only met on that day:) Most of the ppl are no harm for anyone. And those who are, dont really play sgw and go to meetings to a far away place:)

On NYC gettogether: I would go, If I had:

- money for the plane and hotel
- time to go there (I will be in Stockholm at that time:P)
- Visa (Taxo knows what I mean...)

Not really, the world is full of untrustworthy and dodgey people.

Its probably a lot safer for guys to do it, but I don't recommend it for girls, unless you know who you are staying with and you have met them before.

If girls would never share a room with someone they never met before, Id never met my current GF... ;-)

Maybe cause we are not living in the same county. So first time she came here she had to take the risk... :-)

But it was like 18 months ago and we are still together:) Point is you never know:)

On the other hand Nuto, you are right mostly right on that. Girls have to be carefull.

Glad it worked out for you, and it ended up being well worth the risk by the sounds of it.

I guess sometimes you just get a good feeling about someone, and you know you are safe with them.

Our Melbourne get together was great like that. Not one creepy person at all. They were all wonderful and we all got along extremely well. Like we had known each other in years. We were even teasing each other at bowling.
