Wars

Make Wars winnable.

How? I'm not sure, I think that's something the community might be best suited to answer.

A few suggestions:

1) make massing of multiple members in any one alliance by any other members of one alliance be an automatic war declaration.
2) make there be real losses and gains for going to war.

This is, in my opinion the most critical update the game could possibly have at this time. Face it, larger members are leaving and selling off by the droves, and we're too concerned about small members being extorted, which as far as i can tell, really doesn't happen THAT often. Now larger members being extorted -- that does happen, and it usually happens with someone threatening an unending war upon them and/or their alliance.

Agree, make wars winnable.

That will bring the life back to the game.

Taking your desires seriously apophis, how would you suggest handling defeating a foe?

well if it was his way then you cant win. lets face it in rl people die .. dont you wish you could say ok only this type of group can die in war but not the others? in the show sgw even our guys died durning attacks and being attacked. so why not make it so in this game>?


maybe they should add on where we can send in spies to kill attack unit or miners but at high cost to do so.

For the killing miners/lifers that's even worse, not just a look alike of ascension, miners/lifers are base of account, if they be able to be killed, either people will leave, or they will sit most on PPT they can.
We could allow to kill jaffas off people not super soliders, I'll explain why:
jaffas (or attack troops) are often used to be a "stock" of troops, people train millions here to prevent them being on covert, def, income etc...if we kill them, we'll can do alot, as training tons of supers isn't used that much as we know: we cant get them back as other troops, as do lifers.

Interesting idea, but how would that force an end to a war?

well if someone builds there account to have spare uu for time in need they can repair. thats why we have up so we can get more uu. miners and lifers should be able to be killed.. maybe we can leave lifers untouched but miners sooner or later have to be able to be open for hits .

im sorry for not searching through every page of all 4 topics about wars but i just had an idea...... that would make lifers/miners unkillable,but also make them killable...... or something like that...

during an alliance war you can attack miners/lifers, but they wont die, they will simply be "injured" and unable to mine. (being healed at the end of the war since every medic is too busy healing the attackers and defenders to heal miners but after the war no more fighting so medics come to mines to heal miners) :-)

just take the %'s of the "kill miners" suggestions and change it to "injure miners"

every miner/lifer that is "injured" is put out of action for the rest of the war making income limited, while also being able to heal the miners after the war

maybe those against killing lifers would like the idea of simply injuring the miners/lifers and maybe even increase the % injured, since they dont permanently die..... the % can increase to make the wars harder to win

So, what happens when a group of players decide to erradicate another 'just because?' There are a few playing to whose tender mercies I don't think any would want to be left to. Large or small, the game needs to serve all.

Perhaps the answer is in providing the 'wins' for war. When it is fought honorably, you gain advantages from the style of play. That would cause players to seek out worthy opponents rather than simply pounce on the totally weak or outnumbered. Perhaps the gains could be lessened for an attacker based on the number of previous attacks launched or the comparitive size/power of an opponent.

The Glory points could be used here. You gain them for challenging play. Increase the benefit of earning them. A whole class of power could be easily created that would show the CLASSY play of a person and give them status. Post their honr/glory points for all to see and compete with. It could add a whole new level to the game.

Large or small players could profit from this new level of play equally.

Just a thought.

perhaps only if an alliance war is declared or if its one on one you both declare personal war.

Sleips idea is brilliantly thought out and balanced, and if you don't want to lose lifers you wont. His idea is nothing like ascended, you are very easily destroyable there, its still nearly impossible to kill any serious amounts (really devastating ;)) with his suggestion... but it does make it possible.
