Person not deascending

a few friends and i have been trying to deascend someone and their life force goes down to 1, and just stays there. we have already taken out the rest of their stats, and from what I've read, we can do up to 1/3 their maximum Life force as damage to them. anyone care to enlighten?

when Life Force is @ 1 you are "destroying" his reserves. max damage is 5 times his max life force, i.e. one half of his reserves.

so if you plan the attacking on every 4 hours he/she will be descended within 12 hours.
