When i get one of them "xxx protects me, back off or else" i generally ignore it.
i laugh when they say one of my mates protects them (not realising they are in my alliance)

if i think there is a good chance they are telling the truth i message the said person. and of all the times ive done that i have NEVER been told byy that person they protect them. its hilarious. especially when me and said person mass the n00b

Whats more annoying is when they tell someone you protect them and you've only ever traded once for AT, some people expect to much from a single trade.

I do agree that it is somewhat pathetic when people cannot stand up for themselves when they've reached a sufficient size. For example, days ago I attacked somebody for 12b naq, who had an army almost TWICE mine.

When I wake up the next morning, I have a message from the kid. "Return the naq or I'll have my commander mass you"

I thought...wow...you're so much bigger than me, but you can't do it yourself. Pathetic.

So I said stop the threats, or I'll mass you myself, since I don't need anyone to do it for me.

Haven't heard from the guy since then

Well first of all I would like to say, that this is not going on anyone special it is general discussion (that's why i've putted it into SGW General). but i've seen people doing it many times, and i just found it silly

When troubles arrive, many, and i mean MANY people start with: "Heh, you n00b, you don't wana mass me, i will send XXXXX, to mass your ass" , and by XXXXX i mean some top ranked player, or an imaginary friend

What do you think about it. I really think it's a simple show of how weak you are, thinking you are important becouse you know someone who is actually important. I mean,.. ..., it's cool that commanders protect their officers, but in other cases...

Well i think this, "I am protected by" thing, is going too far. What do you think?

If someone does that and they have the capability of massin you, that is extremely weak. Now if it is someone that is a lot weaker than you and it'd take them a while ot build up and mass you, then I can see that actually being fair, but turns out that the people who have sent those kind of messages to me in the past have the capability of massing me, but end up threatening me. Then I mass the person they named.

Now though after massing someone I get messages like "Whoa, stop massing me, lets talk about this." I got over 10 of those this week.
