In the past three weeks since becoming an LG+1 i have been hit numerous times for naq, i was wondering
DO PEOPLE ACTUALLY STILL SPY ON OTHERS?
why do i ask this, out of these many attacks have been numerous members of what was once CoP as well as numerous others all with at least triple my army size, yet i have defended the majority of these attacks against me, but it has led me to wonder, how then could they not know my defense was larger than their strike if the had 've spied.
and if you dont spy why not? is it just your too lazy to look? or dont really care if you lose the battle you lose?
just wondered what the general community thought/did

I don't ever spy.
The reason? I'll explain it here.
Suppose I come across a person who I want to take naq off. There is the chance that they are stronger than me, or that they are not.
If I attack and they are weaker than me, I get the naq. If they are weaker than me and I spy, I still get the naq, but at the cost of a covert turn.
If they are stronger than me, then I'll lose more units through an unsuccessful spy than I would have if I had simply attacked and failed.
In both situations, spying leads to a higher cost for me. Therefore, I don't spy. Hitting them with 1 turn is so much easier, and cost effective.

What a big waste of time and computer space, you do realzie you get 3 covert turns every 30mins right?
