Realm alert

Right after spending 46 minutes massing a guy cos of Realm alert I think its time to change it..

Admin can ya remove the having to wait 7 seconds thing, tis rather annoying.. All realm alert should do is decrease your income per turn and maybe increase UP production...

Who agrees with me?

Even if ya made it so that ascended's don't get it if the guy attacking them is unascended.. (I know no one wants that but would be fun for me at lease :-D ) :P

Anyway yeah what does everyone else think?

I think Jamie is right. All this should do is lower you income and phase you out at a certain point. There is no need for the 7 second delay.

the purpose of realm alert is also to allow someone whoes getting attacking to repair while they are online ...... normally that would be impossible so let it stay :)

whats the point in creating an unmassable defence.. Where is the pain and suffering and the nerds crying when it disappears.. ban the thing.. or at least make it so I can pwn living gods cos I'm not ascended..

I forgot how annoying it was to mass someone on critical untill tonight.. Grrrr

there is no such things as an unmassable defence but it just gives you an advantage if your online while you are being massed.....

Otherwise you will never know till you already have no def left that your being massed.....

The delay is necessary if you are online when you're being hit. If someone is attacking you, you can't even pull out naq and do a quick weapon repair if the attacks are coming in once per second.

With the delay, you have 7 seconds to pull out naq and click repair. Or, train in additional defense planets.

IMHO, the delay is a needed part of defense.

That's a good suggestion, actually. The time delay only works if you've been active in the last x minutes (15-20?) in the game.

I am gonna say no to this as I like the challenge and it means massing lasts a bit longer rather than it being over in a minute or so.

We need something that if your active online you get a chance to repair.

I have a nice cable connection and can mass someone down in 30sec or so.

Others have dial up and have no chance to repair even with the nox/critical.

Need sometype of dimensional time delay that you can activate while online. Even if it cost some AT, Naq or G&R. Allow players to buy it for a 2 to 4 turn period. One turn is not enough, I and many others would be destroying a player during the turn lag even. Even if they are at WAR.

To add to it and/or as a possible alternative, Allow players to repair weapons and train UU from their Banks. Give the players online a chance to repair their weapons and move their spies even if they are on dial-up.

I am all for strategy but also find it a pain to mass or raid a player on nox, at the same time though we should not penalize those that are on playing the game like it should be.

Earlier today I suggested making the nox cost 6AT per turn in effect making it their ATs go -3 each turn, so those that just sit forever on it will have to come off or at least be active.
