Maybe, just maybe I want to train miners to get income, just a maybe on that one.
Not all people farm, especially me, so what do we do? Have miners, what do miners turn into? Lifers, what do lifers do? Nothing about from not being untrainable.
Someone has 20mil army, they just brought the account or something. The account had all its miners sold for $$ or something. That account has say 19mil lifers or something and 20mil army. Real nice account to have is it not? Would it not be nice to have those 19mil lifers as miners. After the reset then sure you can go back to gaining lifers once again. But my suggesting is simple, reset lifers only once in this game.
Furthermore, how is this altering the game?
Turning lifers into untrainable miners. Apart from selling more UU for naq, or $$ or having more UU for war. I have no idea what is so bad about it.

If there were resets then the example would fail because the player would reset the lifers and sell them also before selling the account...
Vote No Reset, even If I will regret it soon enough.
If anything then when you reach 80-100M once you no longer lose miners to lifers. I dont know if the plague kills lifers, but it if does not be a real pain not being able to get more standard units without losing even more to Lifers.

hell no...
a lot of people have invested a great deal of time and recourses into aquiring lifers from the market and why should they lose those just because a few peeps have decided that they have too many.
I personally feel that I have way to many ifers on my account but at the end of the day it was my own doing and is something that I will fix myself when I am ready by getting a new account.
if your unhappy with the amount of lifers you got I suggest you do the same

well, they are meant to stay in the mines for life...i say u should be able to shoot them.
ie, u can get rid of them but u don't get anything in return (except a lower army size to keep u away from cap). not sure why u'd want that many attack/def/covert/anti in ur army but hey, it's up to u.

I say smart things so people don't realize how dumb i am.

I don't really have a 'problem' as some of you seem to have but I guess I can think of a solution to it.
Since you get 1 lifer for every 10 .. that leaves 9 of them that can be untrained.
What I propose is to get rid of a lifer you have to sacrifice 8 miners to do so and on top of that have some sort of naq cost. Something like 500k...
So to get rid of one lifer it'll cost 8 miners (not UU) and 500k naq.
Sounds fun doesn't it?

I think some mis-understand. All is happening is that you get a nice shiny (yes shiny) button that says make lifer count to 0. After that you get your lifers back the same way as you did before.
Some of you say, LIFErs.
Sarcophagus got people alive from the dead.
Replicators replicate themselves and can pretty much live forever unless destroyed.
Asgards clone themselves.
Tauri, humans are too cool for that stuff, but due to human laws they are aloud to retire or even rebel against their line of work.
This is just a ONCE in a game life opportunity. Once you reset your lifers to miners (losing nor gaining army at all) you then make lifers back afterwards and will have no further option to reset them.
So can some people try and understand, YOU MANUALLY PUSH THIS BUTTON!!
NOT, IT GETS RESET BY ITSELF
Because what is the point of it resetting itself? There is no point, I do not want to reset my lifers to miners now. I only got 10mil lifers, that I can live with, but I think more to the future and I think about "What about other people with stupidly high lifer count" So now people can turn them back to miners.

Miners were put in in the same update that allowed raiding. Miners(and thus lifers) are immune to raiding, thus, there needs to be a downside. The 10% lifer count is the limitation, preventing the repeated training and untraining.

What about after your 1 free lifer reset, you could have the option to just, whipe out your lifers. you lose them from army size, and have to work to get that back. but after retraining the amount lost back into miners you will only have 1/10 of the lifers. For those that are getting to many lifers, they either stay stuck with them, or sacrifice them for latter account betterment.

That was the miners bit... the lifers bit was put in to stop people transferring all their uu to one person who is on ppt and then transferring back at the end of it, that and other some other things... I think selling accounts a little bit, not entirely sure on that one though.
