Err, dude, there is no difference to the user, and precious little difference to the admins, compared to before. I was never talking about the skin, that can be replaced. I was talking the whole time about the 'sense' of upgrading. As far as i could see there is no security flaw in 2.0, so there is no reason to upgrade and risk there being a real security flaw due to lack of testing this new version.

Anyways, i guess some people just like a change >_>

Oh, and when changing the forum means the game goes down (unless this was a coincidence), most of us forum people would NEVER condone these actions...

Thats like saying Vista is way better than XP. Or Office 2003 than Office 2000.... All later versions have 'more' 'features', its whether they are useful and make any difference that we want to care about.

Everyone here would agree XP is better then Vista (for now), so if it ain't broke, why fix it?? Especially seing as it now looks crappy, and there might be incompatability problems that make the forum worse than before for us...

Over 60% of new Vista users (who bought it before first update) had major problems with the OS, The first update was over 300MB (I believe) and months after release, it's still full of bugs.


Now the phpBB group are a great community. I even have a Bertie . But phpBB3 is still RC (Release Candidate). And it's RC1 (the first of many ). It is not ready for live forums yet, especially ones of this magnitude.


And quicky: "More coding options?". Both phpBB2 and phpBB3 are open source - both have unlimited coding options. Difference is, phpBB3 RC1 (the one currently on the forums) is called unstable and discourage people to update as of yet. The code is always open, as it's an open source project. The only reason the RC has been brought out is for people who wish to test it, not for people who wish to use it live.

We also only give support to those having a clean RC1 installation, previous conversions or updates will not be supported. We encourage only those running the release candidate wanting to test out the new version, it is still recommended to wait for the full release; after all this is a release candidate.

In layman's terms:

We will not give anyone upgrading their forums (us) any support whatsoever (bad).

We recommend you do not use this on a live board; Continue using 2.0.X (We're doing the opposite).


Not to mention none of the MODs or skins we had work, and mostly likely even if we make/get some, they will not work next RC.

Seriously people, if you find THIS one shiny and hard for eyes, you really DIDN'T know one of my first sgw alliance's forum skin It was xtrem lightened white and xtreme lightened ocean blue!!! Would all have become blind? Adaptation is the key, in life things aren't all time good for our body, we may adapt! Temperatures will go higher & higher, sun will become ultra shiny because of ozone atmosphere dying, like it's already in antarctica, Antarctica is ACTUALLY A REAL PAIN for eyes!!! Never went in, and never plan, the light there affrays me as much as the extreme temperatures there!

1: add some other style!! PLZ!!! something with black background (smileys, avys and sigs look ridiculous on white), and with more user-friendly interface (the menu options are all over the place).
