Another techo question: CPU Coolers

Another techo question,

I have acquired recently a Thermaltake Heatpipe silent tower CPU cooler and I want to use it in my system.

one problem... it was designed for a socket 478 processor, and I have an LGA775 (pentium D). I beleive the only thing to stop me is the mounts. Provided I can modify the mounts, should this be okay?

o not a computer guru but i do have enough knowledge that, modifying something like that is going to be a hard, o dont reccamend doing it but if u have the skills then why not i be surprised if u even some how modified it to work

And I'm not sure the fan control would be compatible with your motherboard... but it may work.

i ended up coming across a page on thermaltake.com on this one, and it is compatible with my processor. (all P4 age processors, including C2D, but this excludes AMD k processors.)

the only problem is the mounts for LGA775 are different to the mounts for 478 duh, and the person who gave the cooler to me got his machine 2nd hand. the mounts are long gone... looks like i'd have to find some measurements and design something in AutoCAD 2007. lol
