That's a long list. There's a lot of films on there that I don't like but there's a few diamonds in the rough.
The diamonds:

Blade runner
Full metal jacket

Die Hard
Scarface
Ghost busters
the naked gun

Re: The 80's had the best movies...

Well Die Hard and Scarface would win in any decade.
Most of todays films are really good but would never have the effect of say Tony Montana getting a shotgun in the back at the end of Scarface. That's spine shivering stuff.
Even films like the Matrix fall short in comparison to Die Hard.

I got Ghost busters on Dvd recently :-D

Re: The 80's had the best movies...

It's hard to say... I mean, there are so many excellent films that fall either just outside of - or waaay away from that decade - reservoir dogs, The Godfather, etc. etc. etc.

Still, overall - yeah, the 80's smoked the theaters. :)

its true the 80's did have brilliant films

hehehe just found this about airplane!:
The popularity of Otto, the inflatable pilot, is such that he has his own page on the Internet Movie Database, even though he hasn't appeared in any other films
