I love the show so much and in between waiting for episodes I had to do something connected to Stargate so I searched for a game related to SG and found this one.

It didn't offend people when I started, dunno what's happened. When someone said they were a god, it was in jest and fun, especially in the case of Goa'uld players.

Seriously, you cannot start a topic parafrazing one of the commandements and pose/"roleplay" as a diety without expecting ppl will make a connection and potentionally won`t care for it much lol

personally.........i kinda dont see what everyones problem is with this subject!!

in RL there are soooooooo many times where someones religious beliefs are offended accidentally, so why is it so bad here?! i aint a religious person at all, so maybe thats why i dont get offended by such things, but at the end of the day ....... as long as it aint directed at someone in particular then just let it slide

e.g. if someone specifically massed me for being Jewish (i aint lol) then that wud be somethin to complain about ........ but a commandment as a thread title?!?! lol, kinda laughable its found to be so offencive

Why not?

Because of past net and real world experience, demographics and origin of the majority of players, nutoriously sensitive subject etc. etc.? Take your pick. Why not "Israeli lies" banners, why not al-Qaida alliances ingame (if memmory serves right) etc. etc. None of it makes sence lol, but the fact remains: bringing it up (in one way or the other) is likely to ruffle some feathers and cause problems. Fact of life. You don`t have to care, I don`t, but you can`t exactly feign shock and awe when it happens...

Game or not, I guess some can handle roleplay with fictional gods but draw the line when it comes to "their" rl God. Now I dont care if some1 roleplays Mary Magdalen during birth of JKs son but odds are some might. Same as the odds some might object to some1 naming his crappy attack stat only MS "9/11 plane"... I and the majority realise that and tend avoid such situations to spare ppls feelings and our nerves from threads that insue, but some apparently don`t heh...

Or not what lol? I was not talking about weather or not you ought to have been sanctioned (good call to unban you btw) but about the apparent mystery of how can ppl still retain religios feelings in a game with gods hehe... (example of ppl getting their panties in a knot so he cant say he did not see it coming next time, not you as an example heh). It`s religion and feelings, logic has nothing to do with it lol

Being a religious man myself, I sometimes wonder why so many people are so sensitive. I mean, I'm religious and I don't have a problem with people roleplaying. So get back on your knees and get back to begging for my mercy!

Do we role play without thinking of it ?

Isnt that the best way to role play ? because its the closest thing to your real personalty.

On the other hand is Role playing surpose to be playing someone elses role someone far off your personalty, so really you shouldnt try and be yourself ?

Am I like this in RL ? am I any different in SGW main ?

Sorry to spoil your thread, just wanted to ask those questions out loud.
