Heroes

What I am proposing is that a new system will be made to implement the idea of heroes into the SGW mix. These heroes would be different for every race and the design aspect is still in the process but I can finish it if everyone likes this idea. Basically every race will be able to make their very own hero that will level up and gain experience. These heroes will be able to battle rival heroes and even lead military strikes on foes. I shall explain this further in other sections.

A new element called Hero points well be implemented into the game, in order to obtain it is to gain hero points u may sacrifice 300k UU in order to get 300 hero points. You may only sacrifice 300k uu max a week.

Military Strike: Hero shall help lead the army to victory or defeat, dependent on the level of your hero ,a percentage of the heroes ability will add bonuses to your army. Say I have a level one minor goa'uld Ashrak, he provides a 5% bonus to the army with covert Assassins, along with a 1% bonus to overall strike. Victory gains your hero experience points, defeat negates your experience points gained, only to the base level. Meaning that should u just leveled up and you lost a battle, then you would not retract from that level.

Hero battle: Similar to Military strike, only you send your lone hero to fight the enemy's hero. Based on his current level and tech level your hero will ether win or lose. Winning grants a higher level of experience points and a small percentage of the enemy's naq within the bank. Losing causes negative effects on your hero meaning that he/she will become demoralized. To many defeats can kill your hero, with impossible odds numerous times your hero shall perish.

Level UP: For each victory gained, your hero shall accumulate experience points. These points shall be used to increase your heroes overall attributes. Each hero shall focus on one of the four choices available to provide bonuses to ether, Strike power, Defense Power, Mothership attack and covert power. Each of these powers will overall help to increase the moral of your troops, increasing the effectiveness of that characteristic.
Each Hero will start off with at level one with no weapons and armor. The level Cap will be level 20, as after this point a hero will be to powerful.

Tech Level: For each level gained your hero gains one tech level point that he may add to his abilities. With these tech points he will gain a new technological achievement, in the form of weapons/defense shield. To buy a new weapon/shield, your hero must acquire 5 points in order to advance to the next stage of hero weapons/shield. A total of 20 points accumulated grants access to the most powerful weapon/shield.
Example:

Goa'uld Level one gains access to stock Zat'n'kitel and stock battle armor.
In turn he will gain access to more powerful weapons/shield after he gains enough tech points. The names are subject to change, but this is what the general idea is.
Attack weaponry
- Staff Weapon-Level 5
- Hand Device-Level 10
- Staff Cannon-Level 15
- Rapid-Fire Energy Mortar-Level 20

Defence Shields
- Enhanced Battle Armor-Level 5
- Personal Energy Shield-Level 10
- Personal Cloaking Device-Level 15
- Kull Battle Armour-Level 20



Heroes Facts

- In order to obtain a hero you must first build a Trainings Camp/sacirfical chamber ( evey race has his own Trainings Camp name ). Building a Training Camp costs 100 bill. Once your shine has been built, you will need to get 1200 hero points until your hero arrives.

- If your hero dies, it will be extremely expensive to bring back to life. So please use caution that you don't send your hero out to fight to much, because it can also be attacked by rival Hero's.

- Your hero will gain experience and level up, giving your hero skill points. You can allot these skill points as you please. Each point will affect a different thing.

- Your hero will regenerate health at a rate of 10% per turn. The option to pay Naq to rapidly regenerate your hero's health can also be added. Also the more that your hero's tech level grows the greater % regeneration rate will increase.

Further Note, that should any questions or concerns come up, I will answer in full about all explanations. Please tell me what you guys and gals think I really look forward to your comments. Btw I give credit to alwin baars for some of these inputed ideas. (Mostly everything under Hero facts)

DG: If my memory serves me corectly this kind of thing has been adapted to the Realm Battles game and is currently being developed in the UBO aka Elementals game. It could be mixed with this game but the chances for it to be a popular success with the general public is low including with the older members of the game. Alot do not like change but time shall tell if this does make its way into it somwehere.
I myslef think it has a 50/50 chance to being a good idea to the game :D

i dont know if it will be a good idea or not... but some things would need to be fixed

something needs to stop people from massing inactives with 0def (or some actives with 100k def) just for stat increases

and i propose instead of paying 300k UU you pay 3MTs and maybe 3 MTs would be a way to upgrade it.

Hmm, well I have never played MEW, and have no idea how that worked. This idea is not a duplicate of someone elses, I figured everything out bymyself with no reference or aid, other than alwin's contribution.

I strongly endorse this idea, and would like to see new life given to sgw.

Hmm, about the MT idea, that could actually work, but I would recomend making the MT needed from 3 to 6, so it is not impossible to get a hero, but it is also not easy.

Another idea that came to me, heroes can be upgraded with contributions of large amounts of UU in order to sharpen the hero's tech skills and make them easier to upgrade/level up.

One: As mentioned before, Hero's have been used in other games like Realm Battles. What makes a game worth playing is how unique it is, taking ideas from one game to this one not only hurts that other game, but it makes this one look unoriginal. We have enough original ideas floating around like zpms that can be used to make the game better.

Two: Besides the fact hero's add bonus to coverts and have techs, whats the difference between them and our MS. They appear to function just the same in that they provide a bonus when attacking/defending. Hero vs Hero Combat? Sorry, MS vs MS combat is just as easy to code as that, and it hasn't been implemented.

Three: This update really only benefits the larger players who can afford the prices.

Four: (if I understand correctly) There are enough inactive accounts out there, with enough massing, a Level 20 Hero could be accomplished in a day.

Five: Mother ships already function as the Hero system for SGW. In that if they defeat the opposing MS, they provide a bonus to the main strike/defense force. MS are also upgradeable. MS's can even command thousands of fleets if you choose to add them.

Six: What game problem does this solve? Why does the game need it. This something that will be great at first, but once the novelty wears off, and all the big players have them at level 20 (having killed the smaller player heros to level their hero up). Well, I can here people complaining about their hero being killed for no reason already.

Seven: Gouald/System Lords are their own gods, why would they want a hero to compete with them? Replicators/Nanotimasters are machines, they have no concept of hero in that if one is destroyed, they simply make another one. Tauri/Tollans tend to view everyone as equals and not heros.

Eight: This would make ascended races...well...race specific. In otherwords, not equal and not the same. You can expect many of the same arguments against making races unique to appear here as well. Well not really arguments, but it just appears that majority of people don't want races to be unique.

Nine: Did I mention MS's? I would think players would rather have adjustments made to Mother ships rather than having another system functioning basically the same thing.

To have never played it you nailed the hero nearly identical to RB's hero in ever way. just a few small differences.

My personal vote is no

UNLESS,

you wanted to make a physical avitar of your ascended self as the "hero" and used this to tie main and ascended together more. Then I might vote yes to it.

I seriously have never played any MMO games with heros in them. Most of this came to me all at once, and I couldnt help but put it in writing.

dude its age of mythology again love it. the best idea ever, i completly love it, i think you shood br able to upgrade its weapons just like covert lvl. and gain experiance with each battle

this has been suggested several times (once by myself even) and is generally disliked by the community and shot down (usually by wolf359 and his huge shotgun)
the SGW equivilent of a hero is the MS

What I mean is to use the hero idea to tie main and ascended together more, meaning the strength of your ascended account is what decides the power of your main hero.

Do you have or play an ascended account?

i kind of like the idea... but yet something about it just doesn't click with the SGW system...

its probably best not to impliment this idea and instead improve on the MS more

agreed, I'd rather see improvements to the MS system.

As for have the ascended avatar as a hero, great in concept that could actually work, going with the Adria of the Ori from the show, but I still have to say no due to the those who have not ascended wouldn't get one.
