As for these credit rating agency's, they need to be dealt with for insider trading, they are as guilty as the banks, they can be dealt with if a PM had the gumption and will to do it.
Edit:
If we don't get out soon it will be to late. the EU is a dinosaur and is going to drag everybody down:

You know I am anti-EU, I want a referendum ASAP
BUT
The current coalition cannot do it, Cons are mostly anti-EU or EU Reformers, LibDems opposite position heavily pro-EU. LibDem voters complain that they didnt get much in this coalition but they did, they got a NO vote on a referendum they dont want because they cant win.
If Cons did give us a referendum now ( it would take at least a year to do it anyway ), YES we would get out of the EU, but we would be left with an ineffective minority government, hell Labour & LibDems could still join forces in a new coalition to prevent it, you really want to risk that coalition getting in, more tax, borrow & spend, centralised socialism and massive public sector ?
As I said, Cons should set a date for referendum in the near future, not now, but within 4 years, before or coinciding with next election. That would allow time to prepare, keep promises made, and placate the Liberals ( if 4 years to make a pro-argument isnt enough for them then nothing ever would be ).

I hear what your saying. aside from the above is there no other solution? can the Tories not call another election with the promise of an immediate EU referendum to get shot of the lib dems and win the majority?
Stating the obvious...I knew no good would come of the last election!

No guarantee on election results, especially now people are feeling the bite of the spending cuts and Labour are still making insane promises of spending on everything regardless of national debt. Torries are not 100% anti-EU ( split as most parties are ) and no political party wants to go into an election on a single policy.
On the plus side if Cons did go into an election saying 100% referendum within a year UKIP would disappear overnight and almost all UKIP voters would vote Torry.

cool beans.
I think that the Conservatives would only need to promise an informative debate, and a referendum on the EU question... they would not need to promise or certify that all Conservative candidates would support pulling out... they could stay split...
if they largely unified on the question of having a decent, respectable debate, with a referendum whose outcome would be respected by the government...
though being split 51/49 either way would not be something the government could likely see as enough to make such an enormous change of course...

to'che... (sp?)
however, let's start with the notion of:
"I think"
versus:
the people should just stand in the way of the cops and stop them from leaving...
and end with... the very important national vote might go this way or that...
or... a bunch of people would be arrested, killed, hospitalized etc, and probably by say, next week, if the story is true...
further, since you get to clarify, so do I:
I did not mean to guarantee that the Torries would win the vote with this strategy,
or any ensuing debate or referendum... no one in their right mind would guarantee such a thing.
merely that I think it would be a very viable strategy,
and that it is possible, though somewhat difficult,
to have a party divided on an issue, and still be widely respected for their attempts at consensus and self-determination, public approval, etc...

looking forward to the part on the boston massacre...
So you disagree that what i suggested
might be a viable winning strategy for a party whose goals I often oppose?
