What silly person says USA has no history before the 1600s.. insulting your own original population, are we?

But I have to say.. Old World history is so much more exciting. Only because I know more about it than about American pre-Colonial history..

That just reminded me of Battlestar Galactica for some weird reason. :?

ah yes pre-colonial america.... it may not have been "important" but it can be interesting for instance the existance of the Comanche in the plains to the early French and Spanish explorers.....

*wakes up*

are we actually trying to debate the greatness of the english?

It cant be debated. We're awesome. If the other nations dont see it, thats your own ignorance, not our shortness.

Should I list a few things that we did? I will list a few things that will appeal to the Americans...

We have not had an enemy on our shores since 1066, despite two WORLD WARS on our doorstep.

We are a tiny island, 20miles from an entire continent. Somehow we managed to rule over 25% of the entire world, developing nations such as Canada, Australia, India, China...etc etc..we didnt do the best job, but where would they have been without us? Not too well off..dont argue with it..you know its true.

We held the western front, and defended one of the largest and horrendous air onslaughts the world has ever known, we were not taken by surprise, and despite being outnumbered with silly odds, we held.

750,000 english soldiers held back 4.2million german soldiers at the onset of WWI

We colonised the majority of the worlds only remaining super power, yes, americans, you may be where you are today, but you wouldnt be if it were not for us. You like to remind us you saved us in WWII, well we made you **Filtered**!

We created the commonwealth games.

We created one of the worlds biggest religions, weather it was born from the break up of the catholics in england or not.

We sacrificed our empire to help preserve the rights of individual nations in europe and beyond.

We invented numerous things pivotal to the rest of the world. (as did a lot of other countriues, but none boast such a list. antibiotics anyone?)

We have produced some of the greatest military minds ever known. Sir Francis Drake, The Duke of Wellington, Nelson par exampler...

Despite our size, we are one of the most wealthiest, well armed, stable and advanced nations on the earth, with undoubtably one of the richest historical cultures and education system from the earliest age, not just university (college).

We produced some of the best commical minds too. John Clease, peter kay...it goes on and on...

So yeah.
Im not going to argue it any more. It cannot be argued.

We may all of us be..produced ultimately from the romans, or the greek-russian (romanians)...or the africans/australians...or even the monkeys, but as far as england and the US go.

Well...your the 19 yr old kid in the drivers seat. We're the 900 year old master yoda using the force to stop your youthful errors in the passenger seat next door.

We did it all, we've earned our place in the grand history of the planet with respect and honour. We're great, awesome whatever.

At the end of the day, we dont care, we're english for heavens sake!

;) No..

You cannot be 'bias'. You are either 'biased', or not.
Seeing how everyone is biased to their own frame of reference.. that's why the whole issue is a non-issue, and pretty stupid at that.

:-)
