personally after being a diplomat for several alliances over time (before i joined Serenity) I was also pretty amused by the complete lack of diplomatic prowess of some of the people who I had to deal with. Back in the days of TDW i'd regularly have to clear up a mess probably every day if not 2 days, so per fortnight i'd regularly have to put up with the same incompetence you speak of, and in abundance unfortunately.

and personally for those who refer to diplomats being the ones to orchestrate the complete and utter surrender and or destruction of foes, I'd have do disagree on a basis of terminology, I think MajorLeeHurts summed it up almost perfectly with the term "Diplomonster".
