Your tricky 'plan" doesn't work anymore and has been fixed if I remember correctly :-k

Then I'm curious how I managed to use it against Ricos.. :-k

Just tested it again...

Personnel
Raiders 0
Super Soldier 1,173,299
Attacking Mercenaries 2,111,938
Guards 0
Super Guards 199,910
Defending Mercenaries 324,343

uh uh..

Fortunately it's not been fixed, considering the planets "feature" wasn't...leaving one feature and removing any other trick to counter it, now that would be unfair and wrong!

You do not have enough resources to pay, are attempting to get no product, or are over your merc limit.

Nope I'm not...I know of others using it who aren't hackers cheaters or anything...just like people use the planet feature...

Don't expect to get tons of extra mercs even if you train tons of attack troops...there's a maximum.
if I did train 10mil attack troops, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of mercs I showed above.

How does that help? As they pointed out earlier sercs are teamed up with supers, not regular soldiers so training regulars shouldn't affect the amount of mercs you can get and therefor this tip is useless.

thank you for pointing out effectively
what I was trying to point out ineffectively.

**EDIT:

except that I have found, as have others before me, that training regular troops does increase the amount of mercs you can train...

it's only worth it if you are planning to train a bunch of regular attackers, train trainloads of attack mercs,
untrain the regular attackers and then use the mercs with your supers all in one turn, because even if you leave the regular attackers trained,

I think you start losing excess mercs on the very next turn change.

( I have occassionally trained extra regular attackers for storage purposes, before I have replenished my lost mercs for the day,
so I know what I find when I go to the merc market...)
