Stop the wagon Cole!

People have never, and will never play MMORPG games for the graphics. :smt101

On the otherhand, Its hardly Jasons fault he cant make it more Stargate Based - Does noone remember the MGM Lawsuit?!

You can customise your own race in Game, if people wanna roleplay then it isnt difficult. Go look at the Pirates!

I'm not saying 3D graphics, I meant something like in the succesful games like "ogame", in other words nice graphics backgrounds, or pictures for weapons, techs, planets, etc...
Unless you don't consider ogame to be a mmorpg?

Also, I'm not saying let's get back to stargate and get a lawsuit, but come on, it doesn't mean it's either copy or free-for-all custom..
Origins & Quantum removed images of stargate and replaced it with aliens/machines/humans/glowing eyes aliens.
Jason isn't forbidden to make races like in stargate, he just doesn't have to take copyrighted names and pictures related. So he can easily make humans for tauri, aliens for asgards, machines for replicators and serpent/reptilians for goa'ulds.

Ricos DDE and OE all use teamspeak = we could all still be an affective group in war ;)

I think one of the biggest issues facing the game is to do with how old the game is. Any new player, unless they buy an account, is years behind everyone else. The gap is now too much and I believe this will be very off putting for anyone taking a look at the game and showing an interest.

Something similar happened with Legend of Mir 2 when a certain spell came out which took years to get. If you had it you had a massive advantage and it put a lot of people off.

A new way off attracting new players (back to stargate names, which i know is very complicated due to MGM) and a reset are whats needed in my opinion. The gap is too large. Too many inactive accounts and too much naq flying about now. A new player ascending for a year with a lvl 28-30 covert will never be able to compete with someone (in the long term without losing way way too much) who has lvl 36+

Doc.

Good idea about the reset..
Too bad it wont ever happen due to the noobs who spent several thousand $$ to build up a good account.. ;)

I never spent any $$ on my account but I definitely dont wanna see a reset (sorry AGA!)

What would help though is let the new accounts start at LG+1 or something. Ascending for a year and a half, trying to avoid massings, rebuilding from massings, not being able to hit back much... it all disheartens the soul... Reduce the number of ascensions required for new folks

Oh how fun it would be to grind through ascension again.

Inspired.

..........The saviour of this game is a universal draft. Shake up the established order & make the uber accounts fight alongside noobs like me while i shout obnoxious things from behind them.

Honestly the only way I see this game being "saved" is by the big empires disbanning and having fun, they have won the game IMO, now it's up to them to either start over and try and war eachother and have fun or not, thats just IMO, I don't think it's bad they won hey more power too em good job at establishing it but I really think taht the only way to "Save" is that

Bridge the gap...

Make servers based on the age of your account :-D

Perg - Not so active players
Training - 09 players
Main - 07 players
Elite - 05 players

just because a player has been here since 05, doesn't make them any better than a newb.. there are some crap old accounts and Ive seen some great players rise from no where.. Robert, Tow Gunner

You can give a hopeless player the top account ingame and see it plummet...

A lot of it is how determined a person is to win and their reasons for playing.

People that really want to advance usually do, by trading up, buying resources etc.
