Voted for No change to alliance log delays. Though I am a notorious member of the big bad TAF. Having log watched in the past I can say, that anyone who is willing to do it deserves the rewards it allows. It is not an easy thing to do, nor is it ever that enjoyable, hence why so many are not able to do it. I do not see a valid reason to why it should be changed, because it's too hard to mass an alliance who is active? Why change the rules of the game to limit the benefit to being active, when so much of the game's decline has been related to the opposite and things that cause people to stop logging in. To me this just seems like a "Can't beat them, get the rules changed" kind of situation, though once again, I am TAF which seems to be the known target of said change.

If this is meant to hinder an alliances ability to defend someone who is offline, then maybe it should be done a different way. Instead of changing logs, maybe it's the amount of repairs or ppts that are allowed, though having been in a few wars with those functions, I would say they seem to be a decent amount but not too much, allowing strategic use but not allowing overuse as happened before their reduction. Another option would be to increase the % to nox that is removed on each defense use, allowing more hits the more someone is repaired.

As this update stands, it merely makes it less useful for an alliance to be active as a whole. If this somehow solves a problem with the game currently, it is not solving it in a way that makes sense.

And to those who may be using this to target TAF and think this will make TAF an easy target, I await your destruction. Come what may.

Ill be honest now, your post has changed my mind, if not a delay then I like your idea about allowing more hits if someone if repaired, that seems reasonable and would at least give a reason to continue trying to mass an alliance who is active and with people with IC functions online.

Sorry BMMJ, I was against alliance logs and alliance repairs since the beginnig. It alowes alliances to have few actives with tons o inactives, draining profits from this "protecting".
Those rules were changed before as well, as you are saying, you cant beat them change rules.

When these logs and repairs were intorudced, it was exatly how you wrote... "you couldnt protect self and alliance, stop massers and stop complete wastin of your allaince stats... so changed rules, created allaince logs and repairs"

i didnt mean you just wrote it generaly. But game dropped years ago to a stage of NO ALLIANCE PROTECTION to OWERPOWERED ALLIANCE PROTECTION

It wasnt good before, isnt good now.

Should be balanced.
Keep logs online - take allaince PPTs, repairs... and let alliance players protect self by counterstriking massers, blocking members, etc.

But opening log...
"I see it... What should I do? How can I protect my members?... ahaaa... its simple... even an ape can do it... I push one button... done..."

Sry bmmj, i disagree with you in one point, the alliance repair/ppt wasn't always there. do i want the rules changed because of the alliance ppt, you bet (has nothing to do with taf though) tbh i hate the alliance ppt thing as a whole, and i think that entire update was stupid as hell (one of the worst imo, alliance ppt is on par if not worse than the double strike), the alliance logs as a whole dont bother me, made for lots of fun onliners bk in the day, but if the only way to minimize the alliance bank usage is to put in delayed attack logs sure thing, but i'd much rather see the entire alliance ppt deal go away all together.

yes, the ppt bothers me way more than the repair, the repair is easy enough to over power (as kj can confirm from first hand experience :P), but the alliance ppt as a whole is obnoxious and stupid

so simplified summary of my post and stance:
i want to see alliance ppt go away all together, if that wont happen, then **Filtered** yes put in delayed attack logs (love the on-liners attack logs has brought me, but if its only way to limit the alliance ppt, then so be it, put in the delayed attack logs

[spoiler]best updates that can be done for game:
kill double strike
remove alliance ppt
increase plague losses (by a lot)
and lower incomes
harder to mass planets that are defended (whether natural or by plats)[/spoiler]

Still another 4 days for anyone to vote.

As said in the first post c2, the outcome of the poll doesn't determine whether log delays go onto live, that's Admins choice.

Taking the discussion in this direction has been useful though, I feel. Several new angles, and ideas have come up ( such as nox reductions instead of delays, or this 'turn change' delay ).

It's also nice to see so many people logging into post and/or vote. Admin meets have been quite small recently :)

If alliance log delay does not come in at least do away with the alliance ppt or limit it to just ONE (gives an alliance time to regroup after maybe a surprise massing) and alliance repair either limit it or when used players in the alliance take more UU losses if the attackers continue, the weapons may be saved but the men not so much. Might get players involved then instead of just sitting there on there own ppt.
