well, i just thought of this

how bout you can kill off miners, but only when an Alliance war is declared, and only when both sides have done damage.

for accounts that you farm, not alliance war, you couldnt kill any miners, but if your alliance declared war on another, then you could kill a percentage per, but lose something of yours, like a sabatage attack?

just a thought, since wars in here are long without a surrender

Bad idea. Very bad.

And I'll explain why!

This will affect only the small to medium players, and help only the big players.

Example:

I'm a big player, my army is 30 millions+ and I have a very good defense. I have also a good strike action (let's say minimum 10,000,000,000). 80% of players in this game have defense less than that. So....I can raid a lot of miners/lifers and I can grow very fast, and the small guy.... have nothing to do against me! In short time big players becomes bigger, and small players become smaller.
Because I'm a big player, I have a lot of naq, enough to buy from the market more AT than a small player can buy. And also, at this moment I can focus all my forces to raid. I don't need to invest now in defense!

This is just a possible scenario. Can be more!

I hope I was understand!

thats why this suggestion is that you can only injure miners/lifers, during an alliance war and even then... you cant simply declare alliance war and start massing miners.... if it was put in the game, then i would suggest the alliance that has been declared war, must declare alliance war back to the ones who first set them to war to be able to injure any miners/lifers

then injured miners would be sent to "hospitals where the nox work" to heal the miners and send them back to the mines only AFTER the war is over....

not only reducing the enemies' income during ppt's but while farming them every turn.... resources will be much more limited....

Why is it that every proposal is considered 'bad' for 'small' players?
This isn't a Calimero episode... although sometimes it makes me think it is.

Injure miners or damage their work ratio is cool.

Maybe something like "Collapse underground structures" as a MotherShip attack option? ;) They are after all, miners... miners are in mines, and mines can be collapsed by either a surgical MS bombing, or carpet bombing with major weps.

Also amusing, the ascended attack: "Sustained bad weather" causing all miners to go all "I don't wanna", and not go out to the mines to actually mine, but rather stay inside and multiply. Yes... it has a positive effect AND a negative effect. *NO* income, but like a percentage bonus to UP for a week or so, depending on the power of the ascended being sustaining the bad weather. ;)
Funny to set up your own range of raid targets like that...

Heck, I wish I was a big player. I'll invest some time to try and become one. I'll even invest the strength of my mind to think of ways to make the game even more fun.
But yea... all that candy will probably be replied to with: "It's unjust!"
"They are big and I am small, it's unfair!"

Maybe a good start is to "untrain" lifers/miners to UU after attack.

NO NO NO. Hah, now it's my turn to be a naysayer ;). Untraining and raiding miners/lifers is a bad idea. Raid in itself has already unbalanced the game beyond recognition. Go figure what will happen if people can all of a sudden raid miners. Killing should remain a side-effect, not a purpose. Or accounts will start to be killed off one by one.

Descension, anyone?

No No No this is a terrible idea. We need some type of unit that isn't killed. Think of miners as civilians, away from the battlefield or something like that.

However I suggest during wars all mining operations be stopped due to the conflict. This would mean only what you had at start of war could be used. no more ppt to rebuild, youd have to fight until you surrendered.

well, what about wars with non-ascended? no descension there :P

because there is this punk we are at war with, and all he does is buy fleets, mass planets, send the MS away, and wait for money, because he has 2 mil miners and he doesnt do anything else. We have massed him so many times, and he is making us mad because that is his primary source of funding... i would like to see something of where the miners can be neutralized until at least after the war.

@ Patrick: Complete cessation of production in wartime!?
What ... ridiculous. I know you usually suggest some good things, but that is just pointless. No offense, I'm only referring to the idea. :)

*goes to make another suggestion thread*

Would be better to *kill* those miners even than to cease their productivity in full. There's not even a very good way of RP-ing it. If you are in a mine, mining, you will mine, regardless of your house (which you don't have) is bombed to smithereens. You will keep filling buckets. :)

@ Pollux: I say kill them. Wars last too short for your idea to work. ;)

bad idea lol... anything to do with hurting or killing miners is a bad idea... miners are the one thing that are safe lol... me love my miners :)
