So let's take a look at the updates so far:
1.) quick ascenders get rewarded (cheaper levels and fleets, keep your MS when ascending, rank mods and damage caps still in effect, rank based on planets only not stats so one trick ponies will abound in ascension now)
2.) people who actually played ascension get screwed (trillions of DMU lost, rank mods and damage caps still in place, descension pretty much a worthless concept at this point, balanced accounts can be taken down by one trick ponies)
3.) While you are at it Jason, you might as well just reduce the cost of the Command Star updates and allow people's MSs from main to add in to their Command Star as well. Have I forgotten anything?

1. you are still more powerful on both servers, the rank mods allow you to hit even much smaller players if you sell ur strike then wait for the turn to change...which should be fixed in the update lol.
2. you are only losing trillions of DMU because u made it and nobody else has. ascension was flawed, these updates are mainly to real-in the bigger players and even out the playing field a little. look on the bright side, you have 700mil planets head start and a top main account to help you. can't complain right? ohh wait sure u can lol...
3. hey that's a good idea lol.

I personally believe that everyone should receive at the very least a partial refund for everything they bought up until now.
Ideally, I think levels and fleets should be reset with a 48 hour ppt, refunding the ORIGINAL cost paid.
Now, I don't think this would be necessary if it weren't for the hard caps in place, Mojo and other top people are well above the maximum LF generated per turn, and that makes so much of their resources wasted. They invested those resources thinking they would get a fair return for the remainder of the game, there was no disclaimer saying "hey.. this might become obsolete later... so spend wisely." Granted, it won't make THAT much of a difference.. it's just EXTREMELY unfair to just say.. oh well that sucks, you spent your resources there and that's where they stay.

im a small fish in the pond that is the ascended server and i got to test out these features on the development server and i must say...i think its too much.
i managed to easily get a rank 92 defense in no time flat, and i mean in no time at all. i like the idea of making it easier for newer players on ascended to be competitive but i think these updates are going too far and i say this as a player who is not even close to be big large or humongous let alone medium in size.
i think its going from being maybe too hard (though with work i have more than tripled my size in less than two months so i wouldnt call it TOO hard really) to being way too easy.
im really wondering if you're making it too easy for lazy players to have a good account. my first 3 ascensions were not that great, i have to admit, however they werent bad either, i just didnt put as much into them as i should have. but i worked hard to overcome that shortcoming and i have done quite well for myself. at first i was happy to see it was going to be easier but it now it seems too easy to grow, too easy to get big stats and IMO is rather unfair to the big players on ascended by hamstringing them and then slapping them in the face by allowing REALLY late comers to the server literally catch up to them in one ascension or two. not only is it unfair to them i feel it is unfair to someone like me who DOES work hard on his account. i dont need anything changed to be a better player on ascended, yes the big guys can wipe my account clean if they want but im prepared to take that and move on regardless what happens.
just my two cents as a smaller player and how i see this.

I can see these updates bringing more people into the ascended server making bigger challenges and mixing the way ascension is played up.

did i forget to mention i went from skill level 40 to 160?
that was too easy. i wont mention what happened to production and charisma but lets say my original CER has more than tripled. its insanely retarded IMO for anyone to be able to boost their account like this.

mine has more than tripled its not just you who is getting more stuff... my skills have gone up and on the dev server there is a higher turn income in place... for everyone who spends the APP/LF wisely everyone should be able to improve more & quicker (admittedly the big guys aren't getting much of a boost) but they will get more of a challenge on there with bigger people popping up all over!

My point exactly! Without refunds or the ability to "rework" our accounts, one-trick ponies like Mato are going to spring up all over the place. I have spent LF on two stats, energy flow and energy channeling, that are above their max effectiveness, because you decided to limit how much LF you could get back per turn. So now I have spent trillions of DMU on useless levels in two stats and I am not going to see any benefit from it, nor am I getting a refund.
I attempted to descend someone today. Descension is still an impossibility so long as the damage that they take is based on THEIR stats and not mine.
Rank mods need to go. Not only was Dead_Horse's 65 trillion defense massed by a much smaller account, but "The Legion" syndrome is kicking in as regards Command Stars and people are using the rank mod to their advantage to build up huge strikes on their Command Stars and mass far larger command stars. If you want ascension to become another version of main, all you have to do is add a market where goods can be bought and sold and throw in some PPTs. I thought you were striving for something different Jason. Apparently, I was wrong, much to my chagrin.
