you guys are not going to want to hear this, but, last week my Mom (mrs. affy) had a severe seizure and has suffered a setback in her recovery from the stroke she suffered. My dad, Aff is taking some time off from his job to take her in for multiple tests this coming week, looking at her heart, thyroid, and other things to see if they can tell what caused the seizure. They are OK but my mom/dad both bummed out over all this. Mom can not drive in the state of Florida due to laws now for over 6 months, whcih sux cause she was within maybe a month or two from going back to work.
Affy is kind of devestated by this, shook him up, but i think he will be ok and was feeling good about getting back to the Q game and normal like things. He told me that seizures like this can happne after strokes but that they say usually within first 2-3 months, not 6 months later and it is like a unknown fear now hanging over them that could happen anytime.
thought you all would want to know, my Dad really enjoys the camaraderie we have all over this wide earth! i think his faith is shaken, but not beaten.

Thnx to everyone for the private messages, Facebook hits, and e-mails about Mrs. Affy. Jesus and Allah seem to be smiling on her constantly and since the Seizure setback in February everything has been 'boring' and pretty much in a rut of steady rehab and recovery. I am glad to finally have a posting with nothing but decent and good news about our situation.

We even got to see a CT Scan of Mrs. Affy's brain in early March and saw the massive black blobs of dead brain area around the back right side of her noggin where the large sinus vein had clotted and clogged up. It looked like the size of a ping-pong ball at the worst/fattest area and the Neurologist said that most people with a chunk of damaged brain matter that size would be wheel-chair bound, and mostly immobile, or possibly barely able to talk. Mrs. Affy is lucky, and still a walking talking miracle by all accounts.

Please be careful with your health, and question your Doctor on all medications prescribed to you asking if that medicine has ANY side-effects, or history of damaging possibilities. Mrs. Affy (being an older fart like her crazy husband Affy) was being prescribed medication for hormone type issues and we have found that THIS medicine over a year or so, is most likely the main cause of the crazy, 'out of no-where' huge brain clot that caused the stroke. The manufacturer of this medicine was found to be hiding/minimizing the growing number of cases of strange clotting in older women, but, has now had to start facing the music. It is very unfair to be such a healthy person and then be struck down by a medicine you trust will help you, but instead almost kills you!!

Never fear, we are OK, and recovering but life is NOT the same for the Affys. However, we adapt, survive, and come back stronger in faith, mind, and spirit. I wish the same for you all...

I love my SGW community of friends all over the world, I have missed interacting with you as well but as we often say - sometimes RL just gets in the way!!

So glad that Mrs Affy is getting better your all still in my thoughts God bless you all your truly amazing people keep up the good work and faith

Thanks, but fortunately nothing happened at the end The only thing that happened was a rush of adrenaline and the "it's now or never" action.. Wasn't exactly sure whether I'd get through, but even hesitating with the decision for half a second longer would've probably been fatal. At least I don't think a head-on collision, 120 km/h and around 100 km/h that the other guy was going, is something you can really walk away from

At that speed your only hope is that you die, as your living standards after an accident like that decrease quite a bit. So glad that you're okay mate!
