btw , this is a LG+1 or more times ascended problem , dunno of lesser ones.
Merc market says:
This means that you can only have as many attack/def Mercs as you have supers of that type. (plus 10% for each merc level)
You can only have 105.00 percent (base of 25 plus 80 percent in upgrades)


um... each merc control tech level gives you an additional 10% to the BASE of 25%.

25+80=105%

Funny way of looking at it. ;)

Oh, and you'll also have to have a certain amount of specific troops trained before being able to buy mercs of that type.. I tried having an all-merc defence once, kinda epically failed because I wasn't allowed to buy mercs without having troops to match.
Apparently these mercs are dumb and need bigshot backup, wasting my precious civilians while they're at it.

Anyway.. I think you just misread the percentage part. :)

As for the "training mercs while not having supers", I have no clue.. never seen it in action since it was removed.

Its not a bug though cause its 105% of your total trained troops....it doesnt say you need to have only so many def or att, same as some people have say 10mill attackers trained so they get all the mercs to go with it.

Also some people get around it by training loads of normal troops bumping up the merc limit then untraining, the catch is they lose 10% a turn + massive losses.

It says

You can only have 105.00 percent (base of 25 plus 80 percent in upgrades) of your trained troops as mercenaries.

Remember its not supers required.

hun, as i undestend you can have 180% proportion between super and Mercs.

lets say you have 1 Mill att supers, you can have 1,8 Mill Att mercs. than you Can't buy more than that.

you saying that in somehow is posible buy more than 1,8 Mill?

there are 2 entirely separate calculations going on, both set different caps:

Capacity #1: Total number of trained Mercs(attack and defense) is = 105% of your Total number of trained troops (normal and super, attack and defense)

Capacity #2: In any particular category (defense or attack), you can have 180% of the number of supers you have in that category.

Does this make it clear? so if you max out the number of defense mercs you have, you won't be able to put very many into attack, and visa versa
