UK & Europe vs USA

ok then, a debate that I am going to take no part in what so ever.

(because I am just too good, and would woop any americans trying it on with me.)

I think we have been dancing around this one for a while, so here is a thread for everyone to get their anxiety out and defend the continent they love.

ANY points made regarding present things (such as average intellect, crime rates, drug rates as examples.) MUST be backed up by hard facts in this thread. I dont want anyone running around calling the americans less intelligent in here unless they can find the grime to back it up!

Things such as historical facts well, go for it, but obviously if it is challenged prove your metal.

Advice to both sides...

Id say europeans look to history..

americans go for the cold hard facts of wealth and military.

this is a debate forum, not a video forum.

they were all bloody scottish! The guy asking the questions was english. No one cares about the scots or the irish. We english despise them more then anyone.

BTW, I'm not getting into this debate atm, besides the fact that it took us 400+ years to go from colonies to superpower. But that's not really something to brag about, because that's pretty close to England, if you go from late 900's with the eviction of the Vikings to the Elizabethian period. Might be another century of work there, but meh.

for history it would have to be europe. the uk alone has far more history than the united states. so many key events of the past centred on the british isles. and some of north americas oldest residents (and therefore history) were a tribe from the region of france.

the massive contribution to science made by europe is staggering, although the us has somewhat caught up this century. europe has discovered many things which changed the world immensely.

as for culture? europe is far richer and more original, being the origin of so many things. but america is the king of pop culture.

economically the usa is the richest country in the world, but the combined EU generally has a higher GDP than the US.

in terms of the military it would be fairly equal, but the usa would have the advantage of greater funding.


over all id say europe is better. we have our culture, our past events, our significance and our prosperity. all of which unite to produce the most important region of the world in human history. europe pwns. uk pwns europe

ah its not racist though. scottish isnt a race, its a nationality. and the history contributes hugely to any rivalry.

not really. different things. the other uk countries were part of the british empire, not slaves to it.

Alternatively we could point at the poorer population of America, see that the majority tend to be criminals as well as "minorities" and then hate on everyone of color for that. I mean, to any intelligent man, that would seem quite uncivilized. from personal experience (and probably statistics if i looked) i know that some minorities are responsible for more crime that other races. i would say that is true of london. and also true of many other places with many other races.

but this has nothing to do with crime. its a rivalry thats existed for hundreds of years. like the english rivalry with france. the english do not by our nature like a frenchman. he in turn dislikes the english.

how about the english banning being gay in the 60's and 70's. Despite our moral objections nobody in the US would ever think of banning something like that. As for england, it's not fair to say history. We are actually one of the oldest countries on earth we've had the same government for well past two hundred years, most modern governments cannot make this claim.

The British had their fair share of slavery, refused to release countries they controlled until World War 2, ordered in sale of opium, a addicting narcotic, into the unassuming chinese peasantry for pure profit. They also refused to attack Nazi Germany with France and Russia after their invading of Czechoslovakia due to Chamberlains amazing strategy of appeasement.

The English massacred the Zulu's, and caused many problems in the middle east due to their dividing up lands no matter their history or significance.


In thousands of years of history and scientific superiority, none of Europe have ever been to the moon, in fact a large fat American flag is on the moon. That's right the america that has been around barely 220 years. In fact no European other then a Soviet has ever been to space on their own shuttle. American's invented nuclear power and granted it to Europe in a spirit of generosity. We formed NATO to defend Europe from the Russians who could have crushed the individual European nations with ease.

The British helped.
