I tried to think of a reason, but aside from 2 appearances in my attack logs, I really couldn't come up with anything other than "I wanted to try it out".

Apparently if I lose my defence I drop to rank 250 or so.. kind of insane. My income is too high to sit without defence for too long though.
So yeah, I see how you get that impression.

Is there a minimum size of attack that can damage a defence? ie: 1/4 of the def, 1/5....?

i had a few massive damage reports when i had my massive defense, although i think i still lost a troop on one of those attacks which was pretty weird. Appears to be 1/5th like in main.

Stopped playing weeks before this happened, so never realised it was news. Mildly entertaining that a massing that would have just kept bouncing off in main, was big news back then.
