Playing tag!

Yup, the new style of playing Q when your bored...playing tag!

At first I didnt notice so HE got a lead on me, but then I noticed he was tagging me, and we are now already in our 3rd heavy round of playing tag :D ->

HE: Mar 15, 2009 {On me} XXXXX Naquadah stolen
HE: Mar 18, 2009 {On me} XXXXX Naquadah stolen
Me: 03:12 High Empty XXXXX Naquadah stolen
HE: 12:40 {On me} XXXXX Naquadah stolen
Me: 14:35 High Empty XXXXX Naquadah stolen
HE: -> Your turn now :D

See, it's very easy, we have all played tag before :D...So as you can see, I made the last hit, so following this HE can hit someone else who signed up, for now thats only me, but if more people sign up, they can be hit too, and then its their turn etc. etc. We all know how it works...

The rules:
-No empty hitting -> It needs to be an effective strike in order to count
-No mass deff building -> We dont want to kill the game, and massive power is no fun...I mean, we dont play tag in real life with baseball bats either do we?
-No stat posting -> This is purely recreational, therefor the stats will not be posted, also as its not meant to be massive bragging (theres another topic for that) instead of the amount of Naq youll post something random (XXXXX as shown above, may be something different).
-One hit -> Pretty similar to real world tag, you hit the person once in the spirit of the game for posting (this doesnt rule out other game affairs ofcourse), but it makes a hell of a lot more sense, after all its called tag, not assault and robbery.

Thats about it, hopefully some people want to play, so dont forget to sign up :D!

Re: Playing tag!

Lazy? Sniping? lol? I've put some time in on quantum every day, and so far I havent 'sniped' anyone.

I thought the key to Quantum was being economical, and making the best use of resources, and that quite simply is my strategy. I think certain somebodies are feeling scared and insecure.... afraid of a little real competition?

Maybe today I'm little, maybe tomorrow I'm big, maybe I'm going it alone, or maybe I have a strategy and a boat-load of allies.

See you at the finish line.

saving up all your resources for the last week is sniping imo. That is what you did last wave and that is what you are doing this wave. That makes you a sniper. You snipe on main and ascended as well. The only reason you even had a half decent finish last wave was due to your lucky hit on d3s for 1.2 trill. I doubt you will get that lucky this wave. Then again you may prove me wrong. We will see...

Re: Playing tag!

lol, ok, thanks for the opinion. This is intended to do what, exactly? Provoke me into building something for you to hit? Make me ashamed of my strategy?

Last era I did not save all my resources for the last week. As I recall, I began building and going on the offensive at least 4 weeks before the end, possibly 6, but its not like I kept a diary, not that it matters, and I fail to see how saving resources 'makes me a sniper'.

Once again, Quantum runs for a limited time, and in my opinion you need to allocate your time and resources wisely and be more effective and economical than your enemies/competitors. My strategy is simply that. I sacrifice my turn income and AT production early on in return for smaller repair bills, less potential for being massed and losing invested resources, and better naq opportunities later.

Maybe you feel like you cant possibly get by without your income, must be heart-breaking for you when you get farmed, I just couldnt play that way. I do find it funny how you can bash Upgrade packages in one post, and then mention your 6-day PPT in the next... still, you gotta protect your income right?

If it makes you feel better to attack my style and call me a sniper, then go ahead, but as I look back at the last era, I remember having only a 100bil bank at the end, and I'm pretty sure my army was 50% of yours at best, and yet I placed 7 ranks above you.

My style might be slow and boring at the start, and a lot of hard work at the end, but I play to win, and after considering my options, I decided to give this style another go this era. I look forward to being even stronger at the end of this era than the previous one, and hope to have even better battles. I fought Seijuro for about 3 hours at the end of the last wave, and had it not been for the friendly fire defence tactic, things may have turned out very differently. At the very least he wouldnt have restored his MS, and who knows how much naq he would've wasted before giving up? I guess we'll never know. Anyway, I know I'm gonna be in the thick of it at the end, and thats what I'm looking forward to. It seems to me that the problem you have isnt that sniping is bad exactly... its just that you dont know how to handle it, as supported by your stated intention in another thread to 'just polarize us all'. Dont be ashamed though, Bebita Polarized me last era too.

As for Main and Ascended, thats a totally different ball park. It doesnt reset everyone to an even playing field every 3 months. I've been playing Main for about 18 months, and ascended for maybe 12. When you start off with an army less than 0.01% of the games leaders, you dont go sticking all you resources out and picking fights with people who can clearly wipe you out without any effort, thats just dumb, it might be brave and bold, but essentially, its still very dumb. Fear not though.... The Slugman cometh.

Anyway.... blah blah blah, ramble ramble... that ended up something completely different to what I had in mind when I started, but I'll dispense with the words now, and lets just see how things turn out. If you have learned nothing else from this post, then at the very least - know this:

I Am Slugworth.... You Are Not.

Re: Playing tag!

I was merely making an observation. I care less how you play, and like I said, you may prove me wrong. You fail to notice that by investing some resources in your stats you are then able to generate additional resources by holding onto your income. It is something you should consider, and maybe you will then be able to compete on an even better footing. I have 1/2 a days worth of resources invested in stats and those stats have allowed me to hold my income for over 4 weeks. You do the math ;)

Re: Playing tag!

Fair enough.

Be assured however that I have weighed up the positives and negatives between building stats from the start, and coasting statless for a few weeks. I've made my choice this era, maybe I'll try something new on a future era, but for now I'm very happy with how things are going.

Oh, and if I'm a sniper, then you're Scrooge McDuck. Its all a matter of perspective.

I look forward to the end game.

Re: Playing tag!

i dont see slug as a sniper, simply because he wants to win.
Snipers have nothing to lose, and are just a pain in the ass.
At least slug wants to rank highly. I may not think his strategy is viable, but at least he is using a strategy to achieve end rank.. not just to be a pain (thats a side effect xP)
