Mothership defense

It doesn't exist... I currently have mothership with about 200 mil defense, I just got attacked...

****, personally commanding Death Star, their MotherShip, initiates the battle.
Chunkysoup was was commanding The Baddest Spoon, thier MotherShip.

If you'll note the bold regions, the full power of the attacking command star was added on... this has happened several times now in the past 24 hours.

Confirmed with severalothers that they're experiencing same problem, just wanted to keep this near the top heh, simply cause, well, it could be useful to have that extra defense aaany minute now lol

yep me again, now attacking mothership has lower attack than my mothership has defense, and yet, full attacking bonus was added on...

Noone else with a mothership checks their attack log?? Or noone else cares?

yes u seem to b right that defence doesnt even comes into play, i have said this to other players a few days ago, it seem when u r beening attacked it hits your Strike, and when u r hit someone u r also using your Strike, so whats the point of having defence weapons on your mothership

Ahhh alright, I'll look into that (so far I haven't had an attack on my mothership), and if I understand correctly, it's supposed to attack your defense first, then REMAINDER pours over onto ur attack, I guess it's just skipping the defense part heh...

Honours and Awards

we updated mothships over the weekend (yes - finally had some time on weekend!!)
it works thusly (in principle - if not, report here in 'bugs' )

attacing:
attack MS hits defence MS shields. Destroys some.
If MS attack left over, hits defense MS weapons. Destroys many compared to sheilds.
If MS attack left over, adds to attack of attacking forces.


defending:
defence MS hits attack MS shields. Destroys some.
If MS attack left over, hits attack MS weapons. Destroys many compared to sheilds.
If MS attack left over, adds to defence of defending forces.



That simple, but (sorry) not so simple to make it happen that way :)
thus the need to refine the code...

The motherships are working much better now. Everything else is working perfectly, but they are still not adding additional damage to ground troops on defense. My attack logs show that I get extra damage when attacking, but on defense I get no extra damage, even when it's the same person so I know that I have extra attack left over. I attacked then got attacked by the same person, I got my attack power doubled with an extra 100 mil attack, so I should get at least 100 mil extra damage for defense because I got 100 mil extra damage when I attacked, but I got no extra damage.

Yea i just got attacked, and it seems like only my attack weapons had any role in the MS battle. Went straight to them without my shields doing anything

well i got attacked for a measly 5 mill naq and lost 49.5 mill in shiealds for only 5 mill naq and i had over 2 times as strong of mothership power than him lol with getting attacked and losing alot attacking i am losing tons not to mention my repairs is alot then i have to keep training to get mercs and nid and so on lol this is not fun at all lol. by the time i am dont attacking i think i lose more than i make including what i lose when i get attacked lol.

well im still not understanding how this works i attacked 2 times once and i got like 50 mill naq i spent a little over 20 mill on repairs and also lost 16 shields whichs i coulndnt even replace them for one attack and I had over 2 times as mych power over him and another loss of 15 shields in another attack lol thats alot of naq loss per attack lol and another i got 65 mill and ended up with 8 mill left lol.

OK! Good job getting that fixed! It's awesome that motherships actually work on defense now! :-D


However, I have one problem with the way things work. There is something wrong when my mothership deals almost ten times as much damage and I lose more shields than they do. You can see what I am talking about here:

From that you can see that my mothership does 2 billion damage, manages to destroy some shields and weapons, then adds ground attack damage. Then their mothership does a pitiful 200 million damage against my 2 billion shield strength, and magically manages to destroy more shields than my 2 billion attack damage did, even though it never even managed to come close to getting through my defenses. That is just wrong.


Why do I lose more shields than they do when I have more shields and more attack? When I build up a stronger defense than someone else, I should have more protection than they do. Mothership shields do nothing except prevent damage, if you have extra mothership shields, they do nothing, so the amount of mothership shields you have should not be a factor in how many you lose(unless they have more attack than you do defense, then it would be ok).


Mothership shields need to be more difficult to destroy. When you are attacked by a player with an attack that is much smaller than your defending army, you are protected from damage and suffer no losses. The same thing should work with mothership sheilds too. If a mothership has an attack less than 25% of the defensive sheilds then it should do no damage at all.


Also, the only reason the mothership even has shields is to prevent the enemy mothership attack from destroying millions of naq worth of mothership weapons, however, if the only way to stop their attack is to build soo many shields that you lose millions of naq worth of mothership shields, it becomes counterproductive to even build shields since you will lose millions of naq anyway.

The loss of mothership shields should be cut to 1/10 of what it is now to allow mothership shields to be cost effective.
