What to buy?

If I had 5T to spend (I don't ATM), would it be better to spend it on UU or use it to drive up my UP?

I'd increase UP. Just curious to see what experienced players think.

At LG+1 and don't plan to ascend in the foreseeable future. Natural UP at 80k

Re: What to buy?

Depends on if you have or what your UP planets are IMO. Also on your Army Size right, depending on that UP could be more important because that is kind of low... but ya like Lore said with that raw I would almost definitely work on getting that higher.

Re: What to buy?

There's those acronyms again (I don't know what IMO is). But I catch your drift. The 80k is my Raw UP.

I know it's cheaper to build on a UP planet, but I like the security of just increasing the Raw count. I don't take planets, but there are those that do. I wouldn't like losing a UP planet I've pumped a few trills into.

Unless your at WAR,if you put a good defence on it(5kish)and with a good CO i don't think anyone would be tempted...Also your RAW gets realy expensive after 150k!

Re: What to buy?

Raw does get really expensive and it can be better to dump into UP planets. If you aren't at war and have a decent CO or semi-reputable alliance and also have at least 5k-10k defenses on your planet they should be safe, maybe a steal by FUALL, but not that commonly.

Re: What to buy?

I would definately pump up your unit production quite a bit, having plenty of UP planets is a tactic that's worked well for me thus far, and you shouldn't get them stolen unless you're in a war or make some bad enemies

That said, I wouldn't put your raw any farther than 100k if you don't have quite a few planets that can use it to the fullest..
Amount of Naquadah required to upgrade unit production from 80000 to 100001 is 3,000,150,000,000.

At 600bil per mil UU.. you would need 5m UU to pay that off, and for the 20k increase to pay itself off, would take 250 days of unit production.. not really worth it.
If however, you had 10 UP planets, each at 50k UP (contributing that extra 10k UP) your 20k raw increase would actually be 120k increase.. for that to pay itself off would take only 41 days..
With a few officers you could easily bring that payoff date to around 20-30ish days, making it a very well worth investment

It all depends on your style of play 8)

By the way, IMO: In My Opinion :-D
