To The Community: Why Are We Mods?

Specifically, why am I a mod? But do speak up about the other mods too!


Why do you think that the mods chose to become mods and why do they choose to remain mods? This question is specifically for the community, mods do not answer these questions, please. I'm curious as to why the community thinks that I am a mod, especially since there is a lot of misinformation about me. Oh don't expect me to try to correct any perceived misconceptions. This isn't a "let's debate about Jack" thread, it's purely a survey. As such I do not want to see any "Mod X should be fired" or "Y Mod is a horrible mod" or "I think that Mod T is a great mod" or "Mod W should not have been fired". All I want to see is "I think that Mod F is a mod because they want to help out and give back to the community" or "I think that mod J is only in it for the powah".


Personally I will only be asking questions, as I've already stated, this is not a debate about Jack thread. It's an honest to goodness question brought about by the extreme curiosity from which I suffer from. And one last time, the question isn't strictly about me, feel free to weigh in on other mods too.

oh god.. another mod topic. RIGHT. I am just going to point at each person and give one word, or as few as possible as to why they would choose it. ON THE OTHER hand.. I will add in brackets.. probably how they actually GOT their position with exceptions of the admins who for the sake of simplicity I am going to avoid despite knowing how...

Lore - Power...ah. but but but but.. perhaps not his own desires..
Robe - Power, but has quickly realised the futility of the admin 'dead end' position.
Buck - complicated, but on the whole probably a justification for being here as he needs the game a lot more than he will admit.
Mordack - actually cares about his SGW reputation.
Earendil - deluded impressions (honest advancement).
Universe - all the better to trick you all with.. POWER.
DaDigi - not a sodding clue.. because he can? Maybe sad enough to actually get some real high off the very little he actually does.
Nimras - deluded impressions (has actually gone down the ladder for being neither use nor ornament).
Jack - same as Buck.
SuperSaiyan - Stepping stone.
Soulless - same as Dadigi.

and me.. well.. me? I just enjoy peeing people off, being pedantic, annoying, knowing stuff and making the job look easy.

so.. hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin general it's not actually that complicated. If it's not because of power.. it's delusion or malice/Machiavellian born.

Fortunately for us.. the mods and admins in general are actually an ok bunch of guys and gals with some certainly distinct characters.

Okie first off, i don't know many of these mods so this is just going off what i see... mixed in with some jokes...

Lore - Great guy, been around a long time... very long time.
Robe - Fair women, speaks her mind but isn't a total butt about it. Same as Lore really... (Except that gender part )
Buck - SGW without Buck? Buck without SGW?... like peanut butter without Jelly... like Racheal without Ross...
Mordack - Two reasons... 1)Great guy 2)He is much like Mr. Linus... pure evil and gets every where.

I'm not going to give a reason for each person. IDK everyone that well. But I want to say that hands down this is a really hard forum to mod! And the mods, all of em, are doing a pretty good job.

Being a mod is a thankless job, especially here. And no matter what ones motivation is to do it, it still requires a great amount patience and tolerance. I agree some mods are better at it than others, but all deserve credit for controling a wildly insane group of gamers like us!

Well the random names are easy enough to spot yourself as for the ones I think have no clue...well naming them just creates unnecessary angst and moaning.

And I didn't say it was real power just perceived....as we all know if people stopped posting every mod is powerless lol
