I just LOST yet a few more hours here to darn bugs yet again.
(earlier today compared to this post time)
This time I was looking at and comparing the page source info (both before making the changes to the background and after (reffer to this post for the ongoing problems I've been trying to deal with: https://talk.gatewa.rs/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=150787 )...
and I noticed that there was some sort of a java conflict in progress... then poof. Both the messageboard messed up and the game account as well.
My SGW account on the main server was reset back to the non existent background setting images, (time warp bug) and nothing worked right yet again after having just gotten it to work about perfectly for a few min...
Images urls shown in the page source info were said to not exist on the server as the links were written.
Looked like it was involving a version of Java6 actually to be specific, for part of the missing page parts.

The messageboard wouldn't allow me to sign in completely to get the ability to post, but I was listed with tons of others as being signed in at the bottom of the page...
I found a reference to an update to java that was said to have been made on April Fools day *against my normal schedule for such things*
So now I'm wondering if the saved server info for specific accounts settings and stats is perhaps having a conflict with java in some screwy way causing the whole mess???
The check boxes on the ascension page are also in "java language", and its all tied together somehow apparently, cause its not just the images that break down when it goes into its 'Mr Hyde' mode on me, but functionality as well. lol
I have neither the time nor the inclination to work on this mess any more at this point however...
But I wanted to post this while its in the mood to allow me to!
I hate bugs...
I'd like to squish them all to oblivion!
I"m going to attempt to RE-FIX the problem by selecting the newest of the background and theme preferences again now, and hope that it stays working long enough to perhaps clean out SOME of that blasted broken account so I don't have to start over from quite so far down the tubes it this bug has landed me.
Hope others are fairing better than me in this scenario.
I'm at least hanging in there tho!
