Many are satisfied with wars in the background, and many prefer to have verbal banter. To each their own I would say. As for the reson, I would have to say its pourpose is infact to make it public so more people know about it.

Remember, to some the forums are more a part of the game than it is to others. I mean I wouldn't play this game if it had no public forums, but thats just me.

Most WoB wars have been in the background, however, it can be a good way to raise the profile of your Alliance, people don't pay much attention to those who don't shout about on here. That said, it is fun to have a chat with your opponents on here while having a fight, hopefully good natured ones. I think it is in part also to be seen in a larger community of people in the game, hey look we are doing this and its fun..

i wouldnt know half the people i know if there wasnt threads in the GC.you can meet knew and more players that way.

Apart from boasting about your achievements??? Maybe to try to estabilish a reputation as a good player in the GW world. You have to remember not everyone wants to be known as a cheat.

FS has been in some very good threads, they entertain, inform and enemies often become friends, but there is always the negative side, FS have also been in several threads that have descended into flaming spam propaganda, those show all involved at their worst IMO

Obviously some are attention seekers, you can spot them easy enough by the amount on threads they start without real reasons.
