everybody i saw when i started was 2k+
i started with 1.2k
and i only started a few hours after everybody else and everybody should have started with 400 UP so im confused too

I signed up earlier today, and am still over 800 army behind the largest accounts, that over 1 Days UP

for them to have loads of mercs they would have to have trained lots of units, and have a lower miner count = lower income = less to put into UP

Oh I know what farm fest is Alucard (although as pointed out farm fest won't be so large a determining factor this era as there are reduced ATs thus not as many hits this round).

I was more commenting on the fact that it wouldn't be until after farmfest when folks had UPs over 800 (the difference in army size that was being discussed).

800...I plan to have about 2500 UP after farm fest, maybe more. That seems to be the norm

thats annoying
my lower AS at startingpoint means that my incme is much worse, meaning my UP is less than it could be meaning i will continue to get exponentially smaller in comparison as time goes on

Not exactly, as stated my officer joined after me, but started with bigger army

and Sir Balor is right, everyone says it doesn't matter now, but it does mean you have slower growth at the very beginning...which means I have less naq to put into strike and def as well as UP...i can see no real reason to give new accounts less then older accounts....sure the aim should be to encourage more people to play...not put them off by having them start at a disadvantage!
