What is the easiest way (with out trying to attack) to find out if you can attack another player

Probably train up a huge covert, then compare army sizes for one because of the 5x rule, then if you can hit the person spy them to check their defence, ascended spy logs are pretty thorough (spelling?)

Otherwise train your strike and 1 AT to test the defence, it's probably the most inexpensive way because spying uses 5 turns or so

or check the multiplier
if you've have no strike before turn change, and you train it up after turn change to maximize strike...
130 percent generally means the opponent has a defense, but not necessarily.
anything below is safe to hit.

Indeed, and there's indeed people with no defense who have 130%. Those are likely to have decent strike, covert, assassins and command star built up.
But spying is also a good idea which I use, but it uses turns.

I pretty much do it the same as on the other server. That is what covert is for right? plus I like to spy to see what others have got, know what I mean? The whole thought of an un-scouted attack makes me nervous. I suppose that this is a character flaw that I must deal with. But the thought of creeping through the darkness. Stealing papers or data cards before the attack it just seems right
