the reports first came from Bloomberg, AP and Reuters. the blog is accurate according to those 3 original sources....
any chance we can have some comments which are on topic?!

The comments have been on topic so far. One of the less-known side effects of referencing blogs or any other sources is that the source itself becomes part of the topic. Especially if you keep your opening posts so very open and unspecified.
Please refrain from backseatmodding.

since i was the main voice asking for such a section to be created on this forum...any chance i can be a mod for this section?
i am not backseatmodding, but i get very...how shall i put it...frustrated i think best fits how i feel-when people post such nonsensical responses to something so serious without any investigation on their part...
"lets just bash someone's sources without knowing what the hell we are talking about...yeah, that sounds like a good idea!"

Hmmm.....
that looks like my cue to cut in with an "Ad hominem" accusation.
but let's look at things a little deeper, shall we?
what is an "Ad hominem"? it is the claim that the origin of an argument has any bearing to it's validity. it is a classical fallacy, meaning that in formal logic, this claim is in-valid, and should be ignored.
in other words, the predictions of an acclaimed proffesor of economics regarding the next fiscal year has just the same validity as those of a 4 year old.
hmmm....
that doesn't seem right, does it?
well, here's the catch: in
formal logic, this claim is in-valid, and should be ignored.
in our everyday lives, that aren't run on a formal logic basis, and that are very hard to be deconstructed and reduced to it, many times we have no choice but to resort to "classical fallacies".
for me, they will never have the strength of a well put togheter counter argument, but their usefuleness is undeniable.
having said that,

An unreliable source can have magnificent stories, but it's all bull. Everyone can copy-paste bits and pieces from reliable sources, add in little bits of their own, draw 'obvious' connections that are only obvious when you leave out a hell of a lot of text.
To give you an example:
CNN wrote: http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europ ... index.htmlMoscow, Russia (CNN) -- ... Adolf Hitler ... confirmed for the first time the chain of events that led to ... the operation ... to destroy the remains of ... his wife Eva Braun ... and ... entire family.
... Hitler ... asked ... a group of special ... agents ...
Two protocols were compiled after the operation was carried out on April 4, 1970, the general said. The first documented the opening of a grave that contained the remains ... , and the other one detailed their physical destruction.
"The remains were burnt on a bonfire outside the town of Shoenebeck, 11 kilometers away from Magdeburg, then ground into ashes, collected and thrown into the Biederitz River," the second document reads ... .
See what I did? I took a source, and used bits and pieces to create a story. Now we should add in a few 'likely', 'maybe', and voila, my own agenda is served.
@Hitchkok: I appreciate your constructive criticism, but don't use it to justify backseatmodding (or 'cover up' your own).
In any case, America has long been bankrupt itself. That individual states go bankrupt now is a logical consequence.

where do you draw the line between presenting an opinion an "back-seat modding"?
i didn't (nor did KMA) order anyone, nor used a special color or any of the sorts.
we presented our opinions (and KMA requested something).
anyway, after reading that link, well, it had little to no factual basis, no analysis what so ever, and not one fact regarding one single state other than Arizona. what it did have is a nicely drawn map with some states colored a different coluor.
and the fact that we're 3/4 past the time frame designated, and not one state filed bankruptcy, means something.

the corporation known as "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" (of which each and every president since its founding is the CnC of the board and NOT the president of the union) was founded in 1913 and declared bankrupt in 1933
@Hitchkok...i thought you had had enough of me and left lol
glad to see i was wrong

i think i sumed that up pretty well in my 'lol blogs" comment. His premise only outlines an empending national disaster in a couple pragraphs with no other sources that i could see.....
Formal logic is tediouse and muddled, sometimes contridicting itself.
I think of it more a guide to discover truth.. like the scientific method or any philosophy. Not a series of rigid universal rules one should base all their descisions on.

Hitchkok's post was in no way, shape or form "backseatmodding," nor was Avenger's. Their posts were merely them stating their opinion and making a request. There is absolutely
nothing with either.
I'd appreciate it if you came off your power trip.
