    Casillas (substitute Julio Cesar)

Sergio Ramos, Yaya Touré, Van Bronckhorst (retired, so Jérôme Boateng)

Van Der Vaart, Iniesta, Fabregas, Malouda

    C.Ronaldo, Drogba, Torres

Yes I know Yaya Touré is DM not defender but oh well...as well as Ronaldo is not a winger but well. :P

Seeing my own lineup first question would rather be "What about Villa?". Answer is, I felt like Drogba deserved to be on the lineup considering there's already five spanish players in the team lol.
Messi...I don't think either Ronaldo or Torres are bad enough to be replaced (well, it's not really about being bad, but not as good as lol), unless you insinuate that Messi is better than them?

You could put Messi on in place of Fabregas, your wonderboy isn't as good as Messi :P

I could also not do that. :-"
If I wanted to, I would have, but I didn't, and thus didn't do.

The most likely fictional team to win against (like...3-1) the FC Barça team "A".

_____________Casillas_____________

__S.Ramos__Carvalho__Terry__Evra__

__Nani__J.Pastore__A.Pirlo__Sneijder__

______S.Aguero_____C.Ronaldo______

Opinions?

Not sure about the players, but that setup 4-4-2 isn't going to do any good against FCB.

Casillas

Lahm Vidic Pique Evra

Ronaldo Yaya Toure Iniesta Robben

Rooney Messi

Casillas is only in there because Van Der Sar has retired!

Robben and Ronaldo would be switching wings a lot as well.
442 can beat any opponent if the team in question plays well enough.
Man United lost the last two Champions league finals in the midfield.
Playing a lone striker just limits your chance of getting goals.

3-4-3 FTW. With left and right midfielder moving to defence when necessary AND supporting counters, the 3 strikers will be able to receive and keep the ball. It prevents isolation and team reliance on long balls. All in all, I'd advocate such a setup.

And of course 'if the team in question plays well enough', even a 1-1-8 (or, somewhat more fun, 1-8-1) could get you a victory.

3-4-3 is interesting but I'd just be too wary of leaving of having my left and right midfielders pegged back into defense because its just not safe leaving 3 defenders with messi running at them. A nice 442 can let you have your strikers running at the center backs and interchanging. Puyol and Pique aren't that fast so susceptible to a nice chipped through ball.
It didn't work for United but I blame having to play scholes and giggs(Too old to truly compete against Barca), Also hernandez gets goals but doesn't do much else for the team at the mo so a liability against Barca.
I also love using 442 in Fifa and on Football Manager so technology has kind of made me love a good 442.
