As the long-time leader of the Unseen Threat Alliance, I've had my fair share of crap. Time and time again I've seen players who just take this game too seriously and make life for the rest of us hell. The UTA was once part of another coalition with Omega and EPA called the Grand Alliance. It's primary purpose was to gain power for its members. It didn't work very well for the UTA, however, as we were never a power-oriented alliance. We are extremely good at organising and we're all very good friends. That alone allowed us to excel at this game.

This principle of friendship and fun is what we hope to bring to other alliances. I have long maintained a friendship with Bahamut, and Robe and I have always been on very good terms. Our alliances have benefited from these good relations and we have all prospered. In accordance with these principles, we have decided to form the Liberum Coalition, the word 'liberum' coming from the latin word for 'freedom'.

The primary goals of this coalition are...
1. Create an environment ingame in which we can operate free of bullies and tyrants who would seek to create undue stress and tension for us.
2. To maintain and create more friendships both ingame and outside of the game with other like-minded individuals.
3. To have fun - this is a game after all!

We are actively seeking out other alliances who wish to maintain this kind of atmosphere and it is our hope that the Liberum Coalition's ranks will, in time, swell and grow.

The conditions of becoming members of the Liberum Coalition are as follows...
1. Only alliances are permitted to be members of the coalition, no individuals, or 'sections' of alliances.
2. Any bullying or vindictive behaviour towards ANY player in the SGW universe will not be tolerated - in these circumstances the alliance takes responsibility for the member, and if no action is taken to rectify the conflict then the alliance's membership in the coalition may be terminated (this will be decided by the alliance leaders).
3. All alliances agree to a FULL ALLIES treaty with every alliance in the coalition and are considered allies to each other before any other - it is expected that in situations where there is a conflict between a coalition alliance and another alliance/individual in the game who is allied to another coalition alliance, that alliance step in to achieve a diplomatic solution - this treaty is also enforcable during war time, as well as peace.


Now this is by no means a recruitment thread. I just wanted everybody to know and understand the Liberum Coalition's purpose, without all the extra crap that always seems to come from people speculating on here.

For the record, no, we are not associated with the GA any longer. We still wish to maintain good relations with Omega and EPA, but the LC does not consider either alliance an ally.

Perhaps in time they'll stop taking SGW so seriously and join us in the lobby for a drink and a good laugh. Until then, good luck to you all.

I will be contacting alliance whom we have witnessed as being ethical both in and out of game, and who we believe 'play well with others'. Those who do take this game so seriously, and you know who you are, don't expect any phone calls from me.

A typical dose of self-righteousness from Puck, who ironically took the game far more seriously than most of those he sought to disparage. The 'Liberium Coalition' was another chance for him to make long posts and sound important; which he loved. If he was around now, he'd be on the Galactic Council. The first page and a half of the thread are mostly idiots signing up and leaving loads of fruity emotes; but then the unthinkable happens on page two!

I know JUAN was a dirty cheat and god knows what else, but that's one of my favourite SGW moments ever. He cut through the pretentious BS of the thread like a gleaming sword of truth and taught that self-important buffoon a lesson. After that, the thread dominated by people foaming at the mouth about how much of a bastard JUAN is and how people like him are destroying the game. Personally, I took my hat off to him.
