Ok, so here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=188196 is a debate as to the meaning of the printed wording "Deposit successful. You deposited 42,038,902,686, which took 42,038,902,686 to do."

I'd like the communities opinion on what this wording is actually saying. I started a new thread because the bug thread is not the right place for such a debate.

I believe the statement is meant to be saying what the fee it took to deposit the naq was.

So for example,

Unascended - Deposit successful. You deposited 42,038,902,686, which took 840,778,053 to do.

Ascended - Deposit successful. You deposited 42,038,902,686, which took 0 to do.

Rudy thinks it is saying how much naq you banked, which in my mind is pretty dumb that anyone would state how much naq you deposited to deposit that naq. It is obviously trying to say how much fee it cost you to bank that naq.

So I put it to the vote. If you think it means something else please explain. Maybe Jasons bad construction of sentences?

If I go to my bank and deposit 500 bucks, which took 500 bucks to do. I cant go to my bank and deposit 500 bucks which took 0 to do.

You need money in order to deposit. You dont want to admit you are wrong and are too stuck up to say it.

If I got to a cash machine to withdraw funds and there's a fee of 75p to withdraw funds, then if I withdrew £100 it took 75p to do it. it is the same principal if there is a fee to deposit the funds.

If there was no fee then it would still say it took 0 to do it because it took 0 fee. Why the hell would anyone state how much naq you deposited to deposit that naq?

It's a former line of code left over from when the game used to tax anything you deposited into your bank..

Goa'uld race didn't have taxes, and after you ascended it didn't have taxes...

It used to say:

The point remains your not getting charged 503.50. Your getting 500.00 and getting charged 3.50.

So if you withdraw 500 and it takes 3.50 to do it as a fee then you withdraw 500 but are charged 3.50. You are not charged 503.50 because you are not paying 503.50 you are paying 3.50.
